http://nickyfisher69.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Welcome to my World! Monday, February 27, 2012. The Spectator Bird by Wallace Stegner. Just finished reading this book, I've reread three Wallace Stegner's in the past 6 months, and wanted to record bits of wisdom I enjoyed from the book. P 102-103 Edited . . . Joe Allston is talking with the author from out of Africa, Karen Blixen, who has retired back to her family home in Denmark. Joe Allston: "You loved Africa," I said to her. Karen Blixen: "It was life," she said. This is safety.". P 209, more refle...

http://nickyfisher69.blogspot.com/2011/10/autumn-2011.html
Welcome to my World! Monday, October 17, 2011. I'm glad I didn't miss the peak of the fall colors while we were gone. I am thrilled that our garden is growing pumpkins, tomatoes and green beans. I planted from seed in mid-July, so I'm thrilled to have any harvest at all. Pete is busy with work and just was called to the Stake Young Men's Presidency as First Counselor. We are loving our newly completed yard, and grateful for great weather to enjoy it! November 21, 2011 at 11:23 AM. Book List for 2012.

the beach is real life: Refugee
http://thebeachisreallife.blogspot.com/2010/05/refugee.html
The beach is real life. Sunday, May 16, 2010. Sara asked me last week if we could have a dog. No" I don't know why I don't love having pets, but I don't. "No" and that's my final answer. So of course she asked again. He's been abused. The owners treat him badly. He's under nourished and his ribs stick out.The other dog they have won't let him to the food. He needs a good home.". Ahhh, let me think.No.". The next day she looked at me with big puppy dog eyes and said, "They gave my dog away.". Trickery is ...

The beach is real life. Wednesday, April 1, 2009. So Here's A Fish Tale Because I was Tagged. I told Jami I would probably have to lie and tell a whopper of a story to compete with the hysterical photos she posted. Lucky for me the 4th photo of the 4th file in my photos was a misplaced file of quick video clips. It turns out I won't have to lie at all. This was an exciting adventure. A Fish Story . . . or Red Devil Meets His Match. Will I pull him from his hiding haven, or he take me to his dark abyss?

The beach is real life. Sunday, August 16, 2009. Celebrating my mom's 75th birthday was only a little similar to celebrating her 30th. My mom was a young bride, so when she turned 30, we (her children, Michael being the instigator) were old enough to know it was probably significant. So, we threw her a surprise party. We announced it with pride and invited the entire neighborhood and ward with great excitement. She cried for days. Swimming and lunch came next. Hanging out in the lobby of the pool. One of...

The beach is real life. Friday, March 13, 2009. Sleepless in St. George. 2:48 am -I awake for no reason. Checking the clock I see that I have only been asleep for 3 1/2 hours. That's not enough sleep. Don't know what woke me up, but I lay in bed thinking sleep will return. Thinking that I shouldn't have started thinking . . . . 2:56 if I don't open my eyes, I'll go back to sleep. I open my eyes to see what time it is. 3:30 I remember I told Sara I'd check facebook for her new pictures . . . . St George f...

The beach is real life. Sunday, October 25, 2009. The other night, I stepped into my bedroom and stopped at the nightstand beside the bed to put my book down. I felt a "funny" pressure or bump on my head and my hair moved, so I shook my head. Nothing. Another movement. So I flung, I fluffed and I flounced, but I didn't freak. I shook a bug loose from my hair. A creepy, crawling, ugly roach bug. IN MY HAIR! Butno Nan. No hairspray. Now, I have the heeby jeebies because I don't know where it came from!

Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Gingerbread House with My Mummy. What Christmas is complete without the traditional gingerbread house made by mummy and daughter? Of course we did have a little help from Cat.every time Mum got up to go get something, Cat would be curled up and faking sleep by the time she came back to sit down. Mum even tried a decoration and found out it was plastic :) the things you do for love :). Well, this was our little house.I think its kind of cute :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
