One of my methods of keeping myself motivated is to set myself targets and objectives, ugh I hear you say, a few years ago I would agreed with you, the occasional pat on the back is needed and whilst I'm not a proponent of self congratulation it does have its uses, shear obstinacy will only get you so far!

One woman, one camera, one huge north coast. Wednesday, 29 July 2009. I know it's been over a month since I updated, but I've been swamped with work (this is actually a good thing! And haven't had a chance to get out with the camera. I seem to be going through a bit of a black and white phase, by the way. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Natural Scotland: August 2009
http://natural-scotland.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
One woman, one camera, one huge north coast. Sunday, 23 August 2009. Last Friday was the ranger walk to Polouriscaig, the abandoned post-clearance village in the hills behind Armadale. I went there last summer and hadn't been back since, so I awarded myself the afternoon off, taking just my short telephoto kit lens with me. (You can see what's coming, can't you? It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon for a walk:. Polouriscaig itself is just four houses set in a valley, this being the most complete:.

One woman, one camera, one huge north coast. Thursday, 30 April 2009. O'Neill Cold Water Classic at Brims Ness. Stopped off at the surfing competition for an hour to see if I could get the image stabiliser working when I'm panning moving objects - a 6 star surfing event makes for pretty good practice :o). These guys are some of the world's top surfers and these shots are barely cropped at all, other than to straighten the horizons. Links to this post. Wednesday, 29 April 2009. Links to this post. Natural Scotland: June 2010
http://natural-scotland.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
One woman, one camera, one huge north coast. Tuesday, 29 June 2010. We seem to have an abundance of sparrows up here this year. It's causing the odd punch-up on the bird feeders:. Though some species do manage to share it in peace:. Fortunately the hooded crow hasn't tried to hop on yet - he nearly breaks the fence, so I dread to think what he'd do to the feeder:. But today I went to the puffinry at Drumholistan and got some of my best pictures to date, which cheered me up no end:. Links to this post.
Natural Scotland: May 2009

One woman, one camera, one huge north coast. Wednesday, 27 May 2009. After spending the afternoon in Strathy Forest on a ranger walk (didn't have the camera, so of course we saw deer! I got home just in time to jump out of the car, grab my camera bag and head down to the beach with Mick and Smokey. The otter, predictably, failed to put in an appearance, but I think this picture of two Arctic terns has to be on my shortlist for favourite shot of the year :o). Links to this post. Ramblings
For my lovely family and friends. At least, it is unlikely that anyone else will find this interesting. Monday, 12 November 2012. Well, not really.). I can tell you now that this is not going to be the most exciting blog post for most of you,. But I was incredibly excited at the time (went a little shutter-happy) and I wanted to share at least a glimpse of the experience with you. It's short, don't worry. I felt like I had stepped into my own sort of Narnia. Gave everything a golden glow. Built in the 11...
