Elysium Fields: May 2008
http://e-fields.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
A blog about the music I am enjoying. Occasionally with the odd gig review. Saturday, May 24, 2008. High Contrast 6Music Mix. 6Mixes can be a bit of a mixed bag but at their best they are a mix of influences, admiration and a personal musical history. Listening to the High Contrast Mix. Not someone I had heard of before) I was struck by the familiarity of his choices and his reasoning for choosing his music. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bleep (WARP and others online music store). Elysium Fields: Cate le Bon at the London Assembly Rooms
http://e-fields.blogspot.com/2014/02/cate-le-bon-at-london-assembly-rooms.html
A blog about the music I am enjoying. Occasionally with the odd gig review. Friday, February 07, 2014. Cate le Bon at the London Assembly Rooms. I've only encountered Cate le Bon as a recording artist before now, in that context you have a Welsh folky singer-songwriter with a chanteuse vibe. However within minutes of arriving on stage you have a very different take on the same music, all angular head flicks and fierce sharp rock from a jet-black Thinline Telecaster. Elysium Fields: Nick Cave - Push away the sky
http://e-fields.blogspot.com/2013/12/nick-cave-push-away-sky.html
A blog about the music I am enjoying. Occasionally with the odd gig review. Monday, December 30, 2013. Nick Cave - Push away the sky. I missed this initially but the Push away the sky. Is so full of brooding Australian rock and ballads that it kind of feels like fan service. It feels close to the tone of Murder Ballads and other classic Cave and doesn't feel the need to fight or revel in it. Opener We No Who U R. A very lovely and low-key release. Radio Protector: February 2007
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 28 February 2007. Willy Mason - 21st Century Boy. Chances are you've heard of this one before, but American acoustic talent Willy Mason. Is gearing up to release his second album here in the UK, with a tour soon to follow. Although doing nothing new, he has his own unique style and vocal quality which no other 22 year old on the scene can match. For somebody so young his songs show a startling maturity and glorious ear for melody. You might have heard his " hit. Before, a song called Oxygen.

Radio Protector: Where Is My Mind?
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2008/01/where-is-my-mind.html
Thursday, 24 January 2008. Where Is My Mind? Is branching out (probably only for this once) into movies! Or rather a song, posted under the pretence of talking about movies. I dont really know anything about films to be honest, which is rather worrying for somebody with a Media and Journalism degree. Nevertheless, i get by. Just. Basically i'm just wanting to pimp the new film based on a Chuck Palahniuk. Novel, called Choke. From the first movie adaptation of one of his novels - Fight Club. Okay, that's ...

Radio Protector: Random Spirit Lover
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2007/08/random-spirit-lover.html
Thursday, 9 August 2007. Welcome back, summer recess is over and Radio Protector will be back in full swing now its contributors have stopped falling in/out of love and/or drunken stupors. Without these moments of indiscretion we would have nothing to base our aural lust on, and thusly we'll assume your forgiveness is attributed accordingly. Back to business then. Just how many bands have promo shots like this? Must be the same guy who does them all). Sounding like a bastardised version of Sufjan Stevens.

Radio Protector: June 2007
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 22 June 2007. Prima Pt. 2- The Fall and Beirut. PRIMAVERA SOUND FESTIVAL 2007, BARCELONA. The below post was actually published on 19th June, not 13th. Though that's when I started working on it. Oh. Anyway, today's post concerns the best double-whammy I saw of the festival. It was a combination that never should have worked and yet it did because they were so different that any kind of imitation or similarity would be a disadvantage. I bring you-. PART TWO- The Fall and Beirut. It was starting t...

Radio Protector: When The Ship Sinks We Stick Together
http://radioprotector.blogspot.com/2008/01/when-ships-sinks-we-stick-together.html
Thursday, 17 January 2008. When The Ship Sinks We Stick Together. Radio Protector is back. Again. We seem to be incapable of keeping this blog running due to social commitments and apathy. Still, i'm giving it another shot due to the fact this place is still racking up page views without any updates. Means some people are finding it and hopefully enjoying it, which is why it was started in the first place! Think Four Day Hombre. And Broken Social Scene. Standard "we're doing a promo shot, where do we loo...
