Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Grayson got to try his hand at board breaking during his Advanced Ninja class this past Friday. He was SO excited for it and talked about it all week long. I just hoped he'd be able to succeed. He was first in line. I was worried since he didn't get to see others do it first, but they practiced on their pads. One, Two, THREE! Board broke on the first try. I think he surprised himself (wish I could have captured his face in the photo). Ms. Holly was SO proud. Way to go Grayson!

I had some errands to run and shopping to do and the girls wanted to come too. We made a day of it at the mall. We did shop, but we also got mani-pedis and visited the puppies in the pet store. Tadj and I thought it might be fun and convenient to take a train to Chicago rather than drive in a confined car and pay top dollar to park in the city. Um, we were wrong. Our train was scheduled to leave Royal Oak at 6:25 and didn't even arrive until 6:50am. The 6 hour ride turned into 8 due to stops and speed restrictions. The ride home turned into 11 (! Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Chicago Field Museum - August 19, 2011. We got to visit SUE at the Chicago Field Museum thanks (once again) to our wonderful Detroit Science Center Pass. We DEFINITELY got our money's worth from that pass this year. This museum would have cost our family $120 in admission alone. We got in FREE! Dug for dinosaur bones. Had a puppet show. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Scarlett got her first dental check up yesterday. She waited on pins and needles in the waiting room as she watched Sofia and then Grayson get called back. She was SO antsy for her turn. The hygienist said she did perfectly and had no trouble at all. We even got a copy of her little x-rays showing her baby teeth AND adult teeth (kind creepy looking). Saturday, September 17, 2011. Gray gets his Yellow Belt. Grayson tested last week to advance and earn his Yellow belt. He will remain in his Advanced Ninja's class with Ms. Holly until he earns his Orange belt (probably another 6 mos.). This was a particularly difficult test because he had to do his first basic form.
