This is a postcard from Brazil that was apparently sent to my grandparents during the Christmas season many years ago. Unfortunately, there's no date on the postcard, so I don't know when it was sent or how old the postcard is. But, it's a beautiful postcard with vibrant colors. They still had some family left in Brazil, including the person who sent this postcard.

It's a state holiday that celebrates the day Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. Many members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Also celebrate Pioneer Day outside of Utah as well. Andcarts were a less expensive alternative to wagons.

She's 89 years old and suffers from dementia. She lives in the dementia care center at a senior care facility about two and a half hours from us. My husband and I have five adult children. We had been empty nesters for about a year while our two youngest sons served two-year full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I shared some photos I took as our family began hiking along the Lower Emerald Pools Trail in beautiful Zion National Park. Today, I'd like to share more photos from that hike. Here we go with my photos, although I'm sure they don't do the actual beauty of the trail justice.
