Jan: Redefining Normal
http://janandjay.blogspot.com/2011/01/redefining-normal.html
Monday, January 17, 2011. I just couldn't leave the last entry in her blog as her obituary, so here goes. Saturday was such a beautiful day celebrating the life of Jan Douglas. What a lovely way of saying "good-bye for now." Thank you to all of you who made this day so special. I am so grateful for the UCO pictures. I didn't find a lot of these yet, so they will be cherished. It has been less than a year since she was diagnosed. Reality of that still blows my mind. Thanks for your words of encouragement ...
Jan: Music Therapy
http://janandjay.blogspot.com/2011/01/music-therapy.html
Monday, January 10, 2011. This is Shiloh (Jan's daughter) checking in again. They also started coming and giving her a Decadron shot to try to help reduce swelling on the brain. This combo seemed to work splendidly at first. She slept peacefully the next day and seemed to be in less pain. YEAH! Thursday night was a long night. She did not sleep at all and kept reaching over for me. This was the night she made me take off her oxygen, which I really did not want to do. Thanks again for all your support.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Shiloh and the Reverend. Well, on to less serious topics. So I get to the surgery check in EARLY Friday morning, since I am a morning person. I was supposed to be there around 7:00am and got there around 6:30am. No big reason to hurry, I just like to be early, being late makes me nervous. This leads to lots of sitting around before things happen. The surgery was interesting in what little I remember. I had nurses named Jan and Jantha and we decided they had to line up peopl...

Jan and her Pans
Jan and her Pans. October 28, 2014. This is just a quick update from last year’s apple escapade. I made applesauce again this year with my plentiful apples and I learned something amazing. Literally all you have to do is wash and chop up your apples, throw them in a pot (peel and all), add a tiny dash of cinnamon and 1-2 cups of water. After the immersion blender things looks nice and smooth. See below, mmmmm. October 24, 2014. Fall Colors – Warm Weeknight Salad. So no complaints here about a little rain!

Princess and Toadie | News from Jan and Ira
News from Jan and Ira. Wolverine Walks the Wilderness Coast. October 6, 2014. Usually Jan is just a regular feminist lefty academic, trying to make the world a better place in her own small way. This is the story of how she came to realise that she has a special power. The story begins in a little Cafe in Mallacoota. While eating lunch Jan suddenly had the desire to perform this special gesture on her iPhone, and almost instantly had a greater realisation of who she was and what she was doing. But it was...
