https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/a-washington-d-c-vacation
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. A Washington, D.C. Vacation. Over a week ago, my husband and I embarked on a week-long trek across the eastern half of the United States headed toward our nation’s capital. We drove, and the time we spent in the car gave us time to talk, listen to music, and simply be together. I’m thankful for this time. Thursday: Arlington National Cemetery, U.S. Capitol tour, Library of Congress tour. Friday: Ford’s Theater, The Kennedy Center. When we watched the Changing of t...

https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/05/16/aubreys-chevron-afghan
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. Aubrey’s Chevron Afghan. It’s safe to say I love crocheting afghans. I don’t know if it’s the size of the blankets, the end products, or the process of putting them together, but I love making these beautiful blankets. After I posted about the green granny square blanket. The pattern is called “Cabin in the Woods”. At first, like I always do, I worried the pattern might be too complex to complete. I also thought I wouldn’t get it done for...8221; I can’t wai...

The Scrapper Afghan: Part 1 – Jana Parrigon Blog
https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/06/01/the-scrapper-afghan-part-1
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. The Scrapper Afghan: Part 1. I found this book of afghan patterns that I had forgot I had, and I really liked the picture of the “Winter Warmer.” On our bed, we have a throw blanket that we use if we get cold, but it’s brown and doesn’t really match our room decor. So, this crochet blanket will take the place of that blanket. June 1, 2015. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

The Light at the End of the Tunnel – Jana Parrigon Blog
https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/the-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. The Light at the End of the Tunnel. We have 16 school days left. Thinking back to August, I never thought I’d see this point in the school year. I took a job as a speech implementer this year. My husband and I moved in the middle of last summer, and we started this past year in a new school, in a new town. And I was mad because that wasn’t in the plan. Declares the Lord, Do you not tremble before me? Has this year been the most fun? April 29, 2015. Wow I enjoyed r...

A Diamond Afghan – Jana Parrigon Blog
https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/03/13/a-diamond-afghan
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. After completing my first afghan, I was inspired to create another blanket of some sort. I had my own ideas for awhile, but then I began perusing Pinterest, and of course, even more inspiration washed over me. I first stumbled upon this website. Scroll all the way down for the pictures of the diamond afghan), and I immediately knew I wanted to make something very similar to this. So I returned to Pinterest. Thankfully, this link. Then, the fun began. I got all...

Summer and Back to School – Jana Parrigon Blog
https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/07/28/summer-and-back-to-school
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. Summer and Back to School. I have two purposes for this blog post today. One, I am lamenting how quickly summer has passed. Two, I want to have an example of a non-intimidating blog post for my students to see when we return to school. (Yes, I am a teacher who plans before school starts. #nerd). Which brings me to my second point, returning to school. Tomorrow I get to, notice the “get to”, take several boxes of books and school necessities to my c...I am excited ...

Back to School: Day 2 – Jana Parrigon Blog
https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/08/12/back-to-school-day-2
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. Back to School: Day 2. We are back at school today, our second day of school. It feels so good to be back in an English classroom. Yesterday felt so natural, explaining rules, reviewing syllabi, and interacting with high school students again. I’m writing this post for some teachers, but also for my students, so they can see that I am blogging and writing with them. I feel that is important for them to see. Until next time, happy writing! August 12, 2015. An error...

Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. Pretty Plates: The Makings of a Plate Wall. Method for hanging plates on the wall. Pencil or pen for marking nail or hanging device. Something to attach to the back of the plates (I used picture brackets and a hot glue gun.). A level area for the hot glue to dry (if you use hot glue). Determine which plates you want to hang. You may want to use these. Give the glue plenty of time to dry if you use this option. Begin hanging your plates. My plate wall is a work in ...

Granny Square Afghan – Jana Parrigon Blog
https://weavinglooseends.wordpress.com/2015/04/06/granny-square-afghan
Teaching, Crafting, and Abundant Living. As I sat outside the fenced field at one of my husband’s games a couple of weeks ago, I thought, “I need to make a baseball blanket.” That particular game night wasn’t a cold one, but I knew some of the game days to come were not going to be as beautiful as that day. So my blanket-making mind began working and planning. Bring on baseball season. I’m ready. April 6, 2015. Red Heart with Love. One thought on “ Granny Square Afghan. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
