Friday, February 3, 2012. I'm that mom who, in the spirit of taking a great picture or doing something "fun" with my kids, ends up smashing someones finger under a pumpkin. Or props my toddler on the table to pose for a really cute picture, realizing later it'd have been easier to ask my husband (pictured only feet away) to hold her or something less dangerous. So, I've become accustomed to asking for grace and forgiveness from my kids. And in true Princess-form, they forgive. He's a real team player.

Friday, October 14, 2011. We have a lot of birthdays at the Goodwin Household. Actually, only four, but they do come once a year, so we're looking at quite a few birthday parties. And each birthday party comes with the obligatory gifts from all the friends and family of the birthday recipient. Including lots of cake. While Canaan and Shiloh would love to have birthday presents and eat their cake too, we decided to go a different route. Each year, we give up our birthdays. And we do have Cabbage Patch Kids.

Thursday, July 14, 2011. How to Be Content. From, Shiloh. In our house, we previously saw the word "Contentment" and thought, "Yeah. We know contentment. As soon as I check off the 19 things on my to-do list and then bake my own bread and then start two companies and then listen to this flower.". Then Shiloh came and the word (and life) was re- evaluated. Then we look over at Shiloh to see: smiling. And we think, "Smile more. Stress less.". Chair cushion for Tim's office, but I remember to be busy less.
