Caleb and Samaria are so much fun! We have a blast together! Jeff takes the kids out every other week for "Daddy Dates." Sometimes its the park to play or the Carousel, and most often ends w/ a trip to Jamba Juice. Caleb is addicted to wrestling right now, so all he wants to do w/ Daddy is wrestle! Samaria adores her Daddy and her time w/ him is full of laughter, hugs and kisses. This is how we say goodbye to Daddy in the mornings, the kids love waving and saying "Drive Fast" as he leaves for work. She l...

I've heard an Angel. Back in my college days. I lean over to my friend at chapel and ask, "who is that guy leading worship? She replies, "oh that's Brownie." "Is that his real name? I ask in total disbelief. She says, "no, his name is Jeff Brown but everybody calls him Brownie." Whew.his parents don't hate him after all. :). I asked Angela about him b/c he was my favorite worship leader, but I didn't know who he was. I loved the way that he lead worship by worshiping. Fast forward to our wedding day!

May was a really busy month. There was so much going on: us and. My mom and Rali moving/unpacking, family and friends visiting, ministry stuff, a trip to Redding and making our new house a home! Here are a few highlights. After all the craziness of Easter and moving we needed a "Brown Fun Family" day. We let the kids pick what they wanted to do, the Carousel and the River (so they could throw rocks in) were their top picks. Followed w/ lunch at Red Robin.where else would they want to eat? Mama Brown enjo...

Samaria was freaked out by Santa, so I went w/ her.she still kept her distance! Buddy trying to give sisi kisses.she was not very receptive :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Brown Blog: The "Big Yellow House"
http://brownsound4.blogspot.com/2011/11/big-yellow-house.html
The "Big Yellow House". A few years back when we first moved to West Salem, my friend Trina and I were driving to the YMCA early one morning to workout. As we passed this awesome yellow Victorian looking house w/ white trim, a big huge yard, an awesome porch w/ a swing and. A basketball hoop outside.I say to her, "I am going to have that house someday, I LOVE it! She turns to me w/ a smile and says, "do you know whose house that is? No idea," I reply. If you don't know their story). We had 13 people show...

Thoughts from mr. mom. Kara had the opportunity to spend the weekend with Estrogen (women's retreat). So I took the role of Michael Keaton and braved life without the one who knows what they are doing. Don't worry. The kids are alive. They're fed. Diapers are clean.enough. But I thought I'd process a bit and give you some of my thoughts post OPERATION DON'T LOSE THE KIDS. My wife is a rock star. 2 Props to all you single parents out there. 3 Don't buy your kids toys, buy them tupperware. 7 I love my kids.

I, Jeff, took you, Kara. To be my lawfully wedded wife;. To have and to hold;. To have beautiful children with;. To go through a home foreclosure with;. To move away from both our families with;. To celebrate in my office when God opened the door to move to Salem;. To hold our breath in the E.R. when the nurse took forever to find Sam's heartbeat;. To drag you away from your love of youth ministry to an unknown role as worship leader's wife;. To carry you when you felt like giving up;. And I still do.

Today is our last full day in Taba. Tomorrow, we pack up and head back to Aqaba, Jordan. Kara and I have both tried to think of a word that could communicate to you what we've seen, heard, and experienced here. But none of them really do justice to it. So allow me to blabber blog. I was right. I couldn't handle it. One of the things Kara and I have debriefed about is that we will never sing some of these songs the same way again. We have forever been ruined. Ruined by the bridge of "Mighty to Save":.
