http://definingselah.blogspot.com/2015/03/dear-child-of-god.html
A Coloradexan pastor's thoughts about life. Friday, March 20, 2015. Dear Child of God. The following is a slightly edited and more vulnerable version of the last sermon I preached at First Presbyterian Church of Luling before taking my maternity leave. Dear Child of God,. I wonder if you know how loved you are. You are not even born yet, but your world is filled with unbelievable love for you. I have searched my heart, hoping to have enough love to offer you. In these past 9 months,. This might be a frig...

Defining Selah: March 2012
http://definingselah.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A Coloradexan pastor's thoughts about life. Friday, March 30, 2012. I'm afraid I've contracted a serious case of senioritis. I'm not sure there's a cure for this, other than finishing classes on May 4th. I've been doing a lot of things other than homework these days. Read the Hunger Games. Knit cute baby clothes. And mapped out the church deserts in Austin, TX. That last one is the result of what happens when a would-be cartographer/demographer goes to seminary. View Presbyterian Churches in Austin.

Defining Selah: February 2012
http://definingselah.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A Coloradexan pastor's thoughts about life. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. The church where I attend and currently serve as intern has a weekly dinner on Wednesday nights. We call it a potluck, but not many bring food to share because the church provides plenty for all. And it's free. I was amazed by her servant's heart and her desire to serve another person. I had to laugh though, when she yelled her mom to fix a plate for her. Guess she wasn't interested in serving herself! Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

Really Cool Stuff: Labyrinth Redux
http://jane-reallycoolstuff.blogspot.com/2014/10/labyrinth-redux_21.html
Really Cool Stuff: Here are some things I have discovered that I love so much they need to be shared with the world. Tuesday, October 21, 2014. This is your word for the day: "redux." I thought I knew what it meant but wasn't sure so I looked it up. And it means revisited or revived. That's a good word for what I've done. Find about 50 square feet of space. Mow the grass in such a way that you're blowing grass towards the outside of the circle. Do all three: North West and East alike. Don't worry about f...

Really Cool Stuff: Here are some things I have discovered that I love so much they need to be shared with the world. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. The Grocery Store Game. My Daddy used to play a variation of this in restaurants when we went on family vacations. It's great for teaching math skills and making kids aware of the cost of living. As you enter the store the players pick a prize like a candy bar or magazine. The main thing is that the players must agree on the prize. August 21, 2012 at 7:37 PM. I am ...

Springtime brings a couple of occasions to give and receive gifts, namely graduations, weddings. And this is one of those times when it is much better to give than to receive. Guat's the Word?: August 2010
http://guatstheword.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 26, 2010. Sorry for the delay. This address can be used to send "non-valuable and non-urgent" items. If you send a box it will stop in Guatemala City, be taxed, and wait and wait and wait for me to come and pick it up. :) But the puffy manila envelopes should make it through. You can expect it to take 10 days (usually) to 3 weeks (occasionally). In other words, the postal system runs on "Guatemalan time". The Gift of The Cloud. But with the exception of today, it's been unusually cloudy.
