ShelkyBean Art: October 2014
http://shelkybean.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. Recently I have come across some time lapse videos of artists creating their work. Time lapse videos are so interesting because they capture the process of creating so clearly. So yesterday, with YouTube as my guide, I embarked on making my very own time lapse. I used quick time to take a screen recording (which may explain why the video is slightly blurry.or maybe I speeded it up too much? I hope you enjoy and don't get too dizzy! Sunday, October 26, 2014. The past is in the ...

ShelkyBean Art: January 2014
http://shelkybean.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 29, 2014. As most artists' will know, commissions are almost always part of the job at some time or other. We often are asked to do things we simply can not do, because we are an artist. I don't know if it is a lack of understanding, but it is something I have been thinking about more since getting this new work started. This is only the first stage.I get so excited when I think about seeing it in it's next form! Friday, January 10, 2014. The Invisible Circus and a New Year! I was give...

Reflections on The Big Round. Doing a lot of preparation and reflection before baby arrives sometime soon. Found this piece I painted maybe ten years ago as I was looking back on my artwork. And so it makes a reappearance alongside John O'Donohues words of wisdom. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

ShelkyBean Art: January 2015
http://shelkybean.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. I am a passive onlooker. I let bygones be bygones. Goodness brings me fortune. I believe in the human race. I understand the meaning of giving. My cup is never empty. I am loyal and just and in others I trust". Some of you may know that 2015 is the year of the sheep. Maybe it is just me, but I felt a very definite shift. Entering this new year. A new energy, clarity, focus. Everything feels very possible and exciting. There are things happening! And it's a little bit wonderful.

ShelkyBean Art: September 2014
http://shelkybean.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 19, 2014. I have been making necklaces all week. The table is set, and I have been adding bits and pieces as the days have gone on. I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying it, as so much of my other work is digital and intricate.this feels very real and natural. Natural in the process of making, should I say? The Hama Beads are so finicky, but the effect is quite striking. I must get some different colours, like grey and shades of blue. The cluster necklaces have been a complete joy!

http://paulahenihan.blogspot.com/2013/09/i-am-from.html
I am from the sticky treetops. That border the garden. I am from giant lego santas. And chocolate biscuit cake. I’m from raincoats, knitted jumpers,. I'm from obstacle courses,. And cozy shared beds. I'm from ponytails, swimsuits,. And my first watch from Gran. I’m from soup and brown bread. I'm from wobbly stone walls. And the freedom of fields. From wet windy cycles and welcome freewheels. I’m from blueprints of father to doodles of nephew. From camp trips and journeys squashed in the car.
