Tuesday, March 1, 2011. I have two prints at the Beaumont Art League's National, "Red Queen" and "Portrait of Jennie T.". Wish I could be there, but I think some family will be able to represent me. "Red Queen" won the BAL's Purchase Prize and will become part of their permanent collection. This is a scene from a weekend when Mom was away in Oceanside for a girls' weekend. An unkempt Brookie is painting an old vanity-turned desk that her dad purchased at the neighbor's yard sale. He's got great balance though and can stand on command. It may be a confidence issue. Or a stance issue. He often stands with his legs wide apart which seems to be a tough position to begin a stride. We will NEVER be able to outdo this guy and his SUPER-INSANELY-CREATIVE mother who begins projecting on Halloween stuff way back in oh.JULY! Awesome. SO cool.
