Hope to see some finished items at the next meeting in April! Lovely, lovely fun!

http://janetbottomley.blogspot.com/2012/06/thorpe-hesley-sampler-quilts.html

Janet Bottomley - Patchwork and Quilting Tutor. Thursday, 28 June 2012. Thorpe Hesley Sampler Quilts. This week is the last week of term for further education classes and on Wednesday my Thorpe Hesley class had its first proper show and tell. We had a lovely lunch too! The first thing we made was a sampler quilt and for most of the students this was their first quilt. It was so lovely to see them all finished and so proudly displayed for everyone to see. Chris's quilt was made for her Grandaughter. Yorks...

Janet Bottomley - Patchwork and Quilting Tutor. Monday, 28 November 2011. Strings and Crumbs Workshop. On October 15th I did a workshop for the ladies in my Embroidery and Quilting group entitled 'Strings and Crumbs'. In the morning we made string pieced stars. Here are some photos of completed blocks. In the afternoon we moved on to crumb piecing. Cherry made a lovely doll quilt top. Things get a bit messy with all those scraps! Here are some of the lovely crumb blocks they made. View my complete profile.

My Stitching Diary: July 2013

http://rachel-mystitchingdiary.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Friday, 5 July 2013. In January 2012 I decided that it was about time I finished off some of the many UFO's that I have acquired [obviously through no fault of my own]. I have now finished the Leanne Beasley. Block of the month called Leanne's House. I really wasn't sure what colour to do it in so initially I used a jelly roll that I had bought many moons ago. I think the middle block is my favourite . I really enjoyed making this little wall hanging and I have always wanted to make a mystery quilt.

My Stitching Diary: August 2013

http://rachel-mystitchingdiary.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Friday, 9 August 2013. Heart of the Home. And another one, I have still been working on all my unfinished projects and I think there may be some light at the end of the tunnel! My problem is, I enjoy making the blocks but just never put them together and finish them off, but, this one is now finished and I am planning on putting this one on our bed [and not in the bottom of the wardrobe where everything else seems to go]. This picture is of a close up of the middle block which is probably my favourite!

My Stitching Diary: September 2012

http://rachel-mystitchingdiary.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Friday, 21 September 2012. With a little help from my friend! Took me twice as long as what it should have done tonight to layer this quilt up, due to the fact that my little friend really thought she was helping! Wednesday, 19 September 2012. My lovely daughter Abigail may have caught the patchwork and stitchery bug! Initially, she was going to make a sampler quilt but like me, she likes the quilt with stitchery blocks in them and this one by Anne Downs ticks all the boxes! Thursday, 13 September 2012.

Wednesday, 19 June 2013. Baltimore Quilt [part 2]. I went to the next session for the Baltimore quilt last week, and have now done the next 4 blocks - I am really enjoying it and the blocks are coming together really well. Again, for some reason I have lost the ability to rotate the pictures - so you will have to look at them with your head on one side! Well, us sewing ladies do do very strange things for our craft! The exciting news is that I'm now editing the poetry magazine. I'm having to learn all sorts of things about databases and advertising and publishing programs. The best part is that I get lots of mail with good stuff to read! Now I am teaching an intro to Creative Writing and a literature course on Crime and Punishment. (We're reading Sarah Vowell's Assassination Vacation, among other things, and having great discussions.). PhD English, with distinction, University of Denver, 1991.
