My oil paintings are about displacement and memory. I paint to create visual statements that are freeing beyond the painting itself. My hope is that the viewer will find beauty in that unknown space. Bruce has a BA in painting from Amherst College, MA, and for years was active in two prominent Washington artist groups: the New York Avenue Artists and O Street Studio Group. In the 1980s she worked at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC, and currently resides in NYC. 2015 Seventh Annual Juried Show.
