After working as a freelance copywriter. For 20 years, I rediscovered my love of poetry and embarked on a Creative Writing MA at Lancaster University. Graduating with distinction in 2013. My poetry has been published in journals including Magma. And Right Hand Pointing. I've been anthologised – most recently in the Templar. And Aesthetica Creative Writing Prize. Anthologies. I've also been placed, highly commended and shortlisted in several competitions, most recently coming third in both the Guernsey.

Something very fascinating and exciting happens when you mix poetry with moving images and sound. I like the idea that poetry films are not poems or films, but something different altogether. Instead of the fast cuts and constantly changing views that we're used to, it can be really compelling to stay with just one thing – a thing as simple as light on water – as the poem plays out. A whole tiny world glimmering with atmosphere and portent; so much more than the sum of its parts. The hours of darkness.

All for the vidpoems I have been working on over the past year with a whole bunch of talented geezers. Food by Janet Lefton. This is not really a recipe but more of a quick tip to create something really tasty really quickly. The easiest garlic bread you will ever make and it will take under 1 minute to make. 1-2 slices of bread. 1 clove of garlic. Drizzle of olive oil. 1 Toast the bread either under grill or in a toaster. 2 Drizzle over the olive oil on one side of the toasted bread. 3 Cut a garlic clove (peel still on) in half, on the diagonal. Half a 25ml shot of Cointreau. 175g (6oz) black treacle.
