Lorikeet Design: Vulnerability Required
http://lorikeetdesign.blogspot.com/2013/10/vulnerability-required.html
Shifting a life to a new place for an extended time is exciting. It is also scary. Friends, family and co-workers express their envy and yet beneath my own excitement is a foundation of apprehension. Why? Because in all my experience of 'starting over' by moving to a new place, there is a great deal of vulnerability. Lots of unknowns, lots of loneliness, lots of re-learning and new choices. I don't do vulnerable as well as I did a few decades ago. It is not showcase time, but a time to stretch. While the...

Freshly Squeezed Digital Designs: August 2013
http://freshlysqueezeddigidesigns.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 23, 2013. I used Janet Scott. S newest kit " Grandma's Kitchen. It is full of fun pieces that remind me of my grandmother's kitchen and times of old. However, it is versatile enough to be used to scrap all kinds of LOs, as I illustrated here with a baby LO. Monday, August 19, 2013. And some good news! I am really excited to announce that I am now on the CT for Janet Scott Design. And I LOVE her designs. This is the first LO I made with her "At the Beach". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Lorikeet Design: My Current State
http://lorikeetdesign.blogspot.com/2013/09/my-current-state.html
I am going a bit retro this week because of the yellow school buses that are running up and down our sleepy little street. It is the start of a new school year here in Oklahoma and I am seeing some of the neighbourhood kids for the first time, as they emerge from and retreat back into their homes wearing new shoes and carrying new backpacks. It is a feeling mirrored in my current state (pun intended). Kit used: It's Elementary, My Dear. By Janet Scott Design. Layout created with Panstoria's Artisan.

Lorikeet Design: Ahhh is for Autumn
http://lorikeetdesign.blogspot.com/2013/10/ahhh-is-for-autumn.html
Ahhh is for Autumn. Autumn. The most delectable time of year. It arrives with dignity and builds to a crescendo of golden delight before retiring gracefully to rest. A week ago, I was able to tick one of my Top 3 from my lifelong Must Do List: to see New England in the fall. Mumps are to blame as the seed for this desire, that and the weekly piles of pancakes at breakfast while growing up. You see, when I was ill my dad would stop at the Public Library (remember those? I grew up in Houston. Hot and h...

Lorikeet Design: October 2013
http://lorikeetdesign.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Let the Games Begin. One of the most intriquing differences between what we know of campus life in Australia and what we are experiencing here in Oklahoma is that of the pervasiveness of College Football! We were warned by everyone we met when we arrived to "beware of the traffic" whenever there was a Home Game. "Stake your claim, whether you decide to stay home or go out. Once the game is within sight nothing moves! And then we saw the transport vehicles! The spectacle of the game exhausted my man (but ...
