I wondered if it could be a robin. The bird turned enough that I could see its red breast. I just saw my first robin! I exclaimed excitedly to the mail lady, who was just walking up the steps of our porch. She was pleased too. In this land of snow and ice, the sight of a robin warmed our hearts. When Jesus died on the cross, it m...

Speculative, sporadic… and slightly odd. Review: Going Postal, by Terry Pratchett. June 7, 2012. By Terry Pratchett (Corgi Books mass-market paperback, 2005). Moist von Lipwig (yes, that’s his real name) is a con man forced to go straight. His assignment: revive the 20-year-derelict post office in the city of Ankh-Morpork. In what seems to be typical Discworld fashion, shenanigans ensue. It wasn’t a very loud word, but it had an effect rather like that of a drop of black ink in a glass of clear water....

Saturday, June 20, 2015. What to sew next.that is the question. Has it really been over a year since I've dusted off my sewing machine? Correction, it's been since September 2012, where has the time gone? Well tonight I proved to myself that I've still got what it takes. No pattern needed, just used another pair of work out shorts as a guide. Fabric was from an old baby blanket I bought at Goodwill. Took about 30 minutes to whip up. Fun times, I've got the itch and wanna sew more! Saturday, May 3, 2014.
