JanetsTravelNotes

Monday, October 17, 2011. Diving south out of British Columbia into Montana in September, we spent several leisurely days on Flathead lake near Kalispel. It's surrounded by mountains and the water is so clear I just had to have swim, but forgot how cold it would be, so it was a quicky. We continued south into Idaho for some more sightseeing. We drove across the state of Nevada on the loneliest road that we have ever traveled on, with no shoulder, no cell phone service and oncoming traffic passing about o...

Thursday, September 22, 2011. Crossing the Straits of Georgia back to the British Columbia mainland, on yet another bright sunny day. Our membership park just east of Vancouver has the most beautiful pool setting that I've ever used. We spent a week here and met up with Florida Pickle ball friends who were returning from summer in Alaska. Bob at the local Blueberry farm. We picked 2 buckets of delicious berries. The Trans Canada highway is amongst the most scenic we've ever driven. A day trip took us to ...

Monday, October 17, 2011. A vineyard in Nevada? Yes Our campground was adjacent to it and they do produce wine. although most of the grapes come from California. It still made for a pretty setting and some good wine tastings. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Diving south out of British Columbia into Montana . Thursday, December 25, 2014. Oh how things have changed! But Christmas Day was really quite perfect. I think this was the first year EVER that Rich was up before me. It wasn't much past 7:30 am, when I heard him walking by the bedroom door saying. "I think Santa Clause has been here! We were invited for Christmas Day and Dinner at Nick and Tonyia's place in Sebring. Before heading out I made my phone call to my brother Dave, but missed him and left a message I'd call later. https://floridapicklers.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 29, 2015. This morning about 7:00 we were awakened by a familiar sound in the back yard. The Whistling Ducks were paying us a visit. They are around most every day - but it's the first time this year that so many have gathered so close. All but a few of them were actually on the ground, in the grass just a few feet from the edge of our back deck, but as quite as I tried to be they all scattered when I opened the screen door! A Fun Day with Friends. We learned that a couple of the trails inc...

On the drive, you get to see the transition from flatlands to highlands as the ocean shifts from grey-blue to turquoise, even on this cloudy day.
