I will start by saying that I am not closely related to these families but I am, let's say, closely connected. To them, and I have a number of nice pictures of them. So once I figured out enough about who they are to explain it, I thought I should display the pictures for those who might be more closely related. I don't know very much about Lavina, who seems to have been somewhat overshadowed in family accounts by her more colorful mother ( Elizabeth Perkins Crouch. And daughter ( Rosetta Lupher Gilson Taylor Osborne. On 30 Nov 1837 Lavina married my great great grandfather Henry Lupher. And they had seven children. A picture of all seven of them may be seen on the Lupher page. She died in 1876 and is buried in the Hatch cemetery in Guy's Mills, PA, along with her husband and her mother. Who married a ROGERS.

Moorhouse and Whitehouse Families. Note: I have combined these two families into one page for now,. For reasons which will become apparent below. My grandfather Joseph Moorhouse. 1872-1948 arrived in the United States on 3 Aug 1902. He, along with his younger brother Walter Moorhouse, was on the ship "Germanic" which came into Ellis Island on that date. A note on the ship's manifest says they were going to join their brother Samuel Moorhouse. Came on the "Lusitania" in 1908. 1838-1900 and Elizabeth Walker.

The farthest-back AYRES I have is my great great great grandfather, John Chandler AYRES. 1769-1852. He is said to have been born in Virginia but I have not been able to verify that. In any case, he was in Belmont County, Ohio, by about 1814. He spent most of his life in Ohio, but eventually moved to Iowa with some of his children, and died there in 1852.
