The Bismarcktower in Delecke at the Mönsesee, strategic located on the highest point of the hill Haarstrag was built from 1st April 1914 til 1st Apirl 1934 to honor Otto von Bismarck. The Soester architect Sudhoff was comissioned to design it. The 18 metres high buidling made out of sandstone has a quadratic base of 7x7 metres. Abot 75 stairs lead to the roof. It has a cupola on top of it and there are semi-circle windows. Over the front door Bismarcks name is written:.

Dienstag, 25. August 2009. The Washington Monument is an obelisk near the west end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., built to commemorate the first U.S. president, General George Washington. The Monument is the highest stone structure and also the highest obelisk in the world. It is made of marble, granite and sandstone. Hight: 169,3 metres. Base: 16,8 metres. In 1876 the intrest in the monument began again and the state accorded 200.000$ for the building. In 1884 the obelisk was finished.
