Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Film news at Photokina. The German Photokina camera exhibition is in full swing, and there's a couple of interesting film developments:. Epson has finally released the successors to their V700 film scanners, creatively named the V800. They promise better optics, 6400dpi resolution (1). LED back-light and better film holders. The changes are welcome, and while it's certainly not worth replacing my V700, I'm very happy there's a successor waiting for me if it would break.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Our Homemade Olives are done — oh, are they done! We started a tiny batch of olives last September. And now they're finally ready to eat. They're quite easy to make: Make a cut in each olive, then put them in brine (1:8 salt and water by weight) for a few weeks. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Golden Week saw us heading to Fukuoka, out toward the northern end of Kyūshū.
