After 21 hours of travelling we finally arrived in Sapporo and headed to Kiroro, where Jill's roommate Satoshi works as a ski patroller. For two days, we were treated like royalty as we were shown all the secret stashes around the resort, skiing like ninjas to avoid the ski patrol and staying in the sweetest hotel next to the Banff Springs. Important phrases for any Canadian travelling in Japan:. Thank you very much "arigato gozimas".

After a few days skiing and touring around Niseko, we decided to travel to Furano to experience different terrain and a variety of touring options. We decided to forgo the van tonight and the freezing temperatures and booked ourselves into a Japanese style pension so that we could dry out our gear and actually wash our ski clothes. Wednesday, 7 August 2013. Spinach "shira-ae"- Spinach dressed with tofu. ほうれんそうの白あえ. Spinach and tofu tossed in a sesame and miso dressing. This amazingly quick and easy dish came together with a flurry of excitement as I finally remembered to use up some left over food before it turned bad! A wonderful dish to eat on a stuffy humid day, this spinach shira-ae is refreshing, light and so healthy! Once I had it made I couldn't believe that it was done so quickly and tasted so damn good! 2 tsp miso paste.
