Jared Millet Blogs: Fire
http://jaredmillet.blogspot.com/2011/03/fire.html
When you least expect it. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Quickly, everyone, come inside. Someone bar the door behind us. This old city may be empty of people, but I think I saw a wolf scouting us out a few blocks back. Where there’s one, there’s bound to be more. But wait. Oh my god, look where we are. Forget the furniture, kids, we just hit the jackpot. Just look at all those shelves. All those dusty volumes. Row after row after row. I tell you what, we're not going to freeze tonight. Ah, textbooks. May...
Jared Millet Blogs: October 2014
http://jaredmillet.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
When you least expect it. Monday, October 20, 2014. Well, it's that time of year again, and not a moment too soon. As my lack of activity on this blog will indicate, my writerly ambitions have been lying fallow this past year. However, an unexpected short story sale (which will appear in the very next issue of Leading Edge. Hip-hip-hooray) has spurred me to action. Last year my crazy NaNo stunt was to write a 50's pulp serial and post it chapter-by-chapter right here on this blog. Let the games begin!

Jared Millet Blogs: NaNoWrapUp
http://jaredmillet.blogspot.com/2014/12/nanowrapup.html
When you least expect it. Wednesday, December 3, 2014. So NaNoWriMo 2014 has been over for a few days. All in all, a successful year. I met my own goal (yay! By the skin of my teeth and a last-minute 3,000 word chicken chase on the moon. What's more, the Birmingham region's 355 participants racked up a solid 5.6 million words of ficiton. Nice going, guys! During the course of the event, which demanded even stricter deadline control than normal and a violation of my "no one sees my early drafts" rule.
Jared Millet Blogs: Back From the Dead
http://jaredmillet.blogspot.com/2015/07/back-from-dead.html
When you least expect it. Friday, July 24, 2015. Back From the Dead. Way back when "River Ascending" came out. I made the statement on this here blog that I'd publish a new Whisper story on this blog "or die trying." Well, apparently I've been dead for quite some time. Thankfully, I've managed to claw my way back from the Nethersphere just in time for an SF mini-conference at my old haunt, the Hoover Public Library! I'm going to be on a local authors panel with some real. And Hugo-winner Lou Anders.

Years of Happiness: June 2013
http://www.yearsofhappiness.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 7, 2013. I am rested now that school has been out for a couple of weeks. Today, I rediscovered Pandora Radio. My stations can be put on shuffle for extra fun (a new to me feature). Loving the way my new and old self are one and the same through music. Music in the summer takes me deep into my imagination and sparks creativity. Bliss! Posted by Heidi Moos. Years of Happiness: April 2012
http://www.yearsofhappiness.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 29, 2012. How are the resolutions coming along? At our first meeting we used the guide posted. To determine our personal resolutions. Because I have been thinking of the project for months, I had a head start on refining ideas. . . or so I thought. My list is very long but clearly can be tweaked by having a resolution with sub strategies that can baby step me toward the goals. For the first two weeks my resolutions were as follows:. Make my bed every day. Do dishes immediately after dinner.
Years of Happiness: Pacific Northwest July 2013
http://www.yearsofhappiness.com/2014/07/pacific-northwest-july-2013.html
Sunday, July 13, 2014. Pacific Northwest July 2013. In July my family went on an amazing tour of the Pacific Northwest. The Chinese Garden in Portland is a treasure. We stayed for hours and have already planned to return one day. This picture doesn't do justice to the experience. I have been to most of the beaches along the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico. I thought the Gulf Beaches were my favorite until I found the Oregon Coast. I fell in love and almost stayed forever. Posted by Heidi Moos. I'm not a bi...

Years of Happiness: Playlist for WIP
http://www.yearsofhappiness.com/2013/03/playlist-for-wip.html
Monday, March 18, 2013. As long as I can remember, I've had a story in my head. Some I've written down, but most have played in my head like movies on the screen. All have had a soundtrack. I didn't make the connection between music and the stories in my mind until 2000. Both have always been there. This is the playlist for a Young Adult novel that has been brewing for two years. Posted by Heidi Moos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Summer of 2012 and 2013. Brave Girl Art School. Bowing to the Future.
Years of Happiness: Week 29: "share"
http://www.yearsofhappiness.com/2013/03/share.html
Saturday, March 16, 2013. By Jenni Adkins Horne. Today, I bought Week 29: "share". At the Naked Art Gallery. In Birmingham. I don't have a Jenni bicycle painting, a signature image, so I'm thrilled to add this to my collection. I had my eye on a few. Too, but they had sold by the time I made it to the show. I've been following the project since before. The painting won't come home until after the show, so scoot over to the gallery and see the 52 canvases and pick one out for your wall. In so many words.

Years of Happiness: June 2012
http://www.yearsofhappiness.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 3, 2012. Papers, markers, pencils, pens, journals, beads, photography, ephemera, yarn, fabric, and other artsy supplies make me giddy with excitement. I love to collect the tools needed to create my own homemade projects. Over the years, I've made a few things that were beyond refrigerator art. However, I've been somewhat disappointed in my. Mixed media projects. The element missing is color. June 8-9, I'll be near Atlanta for my first painting class with Jenni Horne. Going to a museum is aw...

When you least expect it. Thursday, October 19, 2017. Suddenly, Two Years Later. Haven't been here in a while, and I've barely written a word in all that time. Changing jobs and moving to a new city will do that. But, by Crom's grim grey goblet, it's October and NaNoWriMo. Is coming. This is going to be a busier month than ever to write in, but my project is going to be a "planetary romance" novel called Starfell. Something which I hope will come out reading like Ursula K. Le Guin's first. It's been a fu...

Postings of my latest work from my sketchbook and SJSUAI projects. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Here's some work in progress shots from a high res version of Lilo's house from the Disney movie Lilo and Stitch. I wanted to spend my break focusing on modeling a high res organic environment and learn a little bit more about Zbrush in the process. I'm hoping to add a lot more junk around the house and model more plants and rocks throughout. Some of my new best friends:. Tuesday, November 19, 2013. For which ...
