Stories of the happenings in the Trutter-Smith household! Monday, April 18, 2016. Spring Break Tucson Style! Ohhhhh we had a blast for Spring Break this year! Mom rented a nice house with a beautiful view of the mountains that wasn't too far from Lindsey. The kids completely wore all of us out with their 6:00am rise and shine routine every day, but overall we had a blast. And it was soooo nice to get some sun! Including the wild piggies that came to our back door a few times, that we fed some table scraps.

She is maybe the only person I know that can drive me to the verge of complete insanity but also make my heart just burst with love. Parenthood is a remarkable journey, and it ain't for sissies. For several months now he has been using a bat (or anything that resembles a bat) to hit a ball (or other similar object) in the air as he tosses it. I will be 12 weeks pregnant on Tuesday! The first trimester has been pretty rough - I pretty much felt nauseous the whole time but especially in the evenings. We had a bar-b-que for the 4th and had our friends Katy and Ed and Nicki and Joe and their 3 year old boy Henry over. Mike made 3 pounds of steamed clams for appetizer and we grilled burgers and brats. We played lasso golf in the back yard and even kept Louis up for the 10:10pm Tacoma Fireworks which we were able to see from the lighthouse park right by our house! Louis hair is hilarious! It was if Louis' first birthday changed him into a toddler over night! Louis has figured out how to push all the buttons on his toys. If you tell him to "honk his horn" he will push the red button on his dump truck! He will bring me books for me to read to him - he will sit on my lap for like 10 minutes and let me read to him! Now he is always standing!

Last Friday night Mike and I were fortunate enough to recieve tickets for Zoobilee, which is a fundraiser at the Tacoma Zoo. The tickets were 200 dollars each! The event was outside with multiple bands and instead of a formal sit down dinner over 40 local restaurants set up tents and offered samples of their food, beer and wine!
