When we returned to Brownie's in Norton, VA in August 2001 we learned that Betty was laid up in bed, lung cancer, unable to come in and unable to see anyone. She did talk briefly on the phone with Terry. The news in August 2002 was not good. Betty had died. This caused not only massive writer's block for me about Bristol but really killed a lot of the desire to go back to Brownie's. On the rednekkid blog.
