OneToOne NHibernate mappings – Jason A Bowers
http://jasonabowers.com/post/2014/03/27/OneToOne-NHibernate-mappings
In mapping a particular database schema in NHibernate, it came time to figure out how exactly to do a OneToOne mapping where one table has a FK that references another’s PK. By default, it tries to map PK to PK, as made evident in the subsequent SQL log. One would think that OneToOne on both sides would do the trick. Nope. Not in NHibernate. The actual way, at least in this scenario, is to create a ManyToOne on the FK side so that NHibernate knows what column you wish to map for that property:.

ORA-01012 and me: An education on Connection Pools – Jason A Bowers
http://jasonabowers.com/post/2014/04/21/ORA-01012-and-me:-An-education-on-Connection-Pools
ORA-01012 and me: An education on Connection Pools. I took on a task to address an issue we had with lost sessions, mainly when a database becomes unavailable. The exception being thrown was for “ORA-01012: not logged on”. There’s not a whole lot out there except for why it’s happening. When sessions are lost, they aren’t being restored. In my searches, I came across a StackOverflow thread. On this exception with a pointer to the Oracle docs regarding Connection Pooling. Tagged as: Connection Pools.
Creating a base class in C# – Jason A Bowers
http://jasonabowers.com/post/2015/04/24/Creating-a-base-class-in-C
Creating a base class in C#. Say we have a service that will return the results of a query based on the data in a request. Say there are job role titles that define the query predicates to use, so there are now 3 or more queries that are similar, but not the same. Each of those query processors are doing 2 things. One is throwing an exception if a parameter was missing in the request. The second is the actual query, which is returned to the service. Public class ProjectControllerHandler : RoleHandlerBase...
I find comfort in refactoring – Jason A Bowers
http://jasonabowers.com/post/2014/03/01/I-find-comfort-in-refactoring
I find comfort in refactoring. Today, a big part of my work was going though a Javascript file I wrote, and refactor it. Remembering some of the Clean Code reading I’ve done, and including the videos we’ve been watching at work, I applied a couple of the teaching to my refactoring. First was arranging the code so it read like a story. How did my story start out? Var x = true. Exactly. However,. Var areTablesBuilt = true. Explains that the variable for setting whether or not the tables have been built.

ITaskAgent Enqueue TTask (Expression Action TTask taskExpression) where TTask : ITaskJob; /code. That above is the signature on the interface for an anonymous call into a class that setups and runs background tasks on the server. The thought here is to have the ability to trigger tasks for such things as generating PDFs or linking between records. Since where I work, we utilize TDD with Moq in NUnit, one of the tests I wanted to write was to test the call into the “Enqueue” was done correctly. And after ...
