How Ginger met Jason. After Ginger’s original creator, Jimmy Bancks. Passed away in 1952, he was left an orphan. He was a Australia’s most popular boy having become an Aussie icon under Banck’s care. It wasn’t until Ron Vivian. Picked up where Bancks left off that Ginger started his curious pattern of outliving his foster parents. The baton was passed from the late Ron Vivian to Ginger’s third dad, Lloyd Piper. In 1973. After just ten years, Mr Piper sadly passed away and it was James Kemsley.

Artwork by Luke Watson: The Cropdusters Step-by-step
http://lukewatsons.blogspot.com/2012/05/cropdusters-step-by-step.html
Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Step 1: So I had this idea, of old time crop dusters. I found some pretty good references to get me started, but not a great one of the old style bug sprayer.but I did up a loose sketch to get the layout how I had in my mind. Step 3: The main character is done and I have still left the arm blank. Ready to start on the background and I'm pissed off at this stage about the right arm. The right arm has founf it's place after I finally found a couple of good reference shots. It's at...

Artwork by Luke Watson: Portrait Update
http://lukewatsons.blogspot.com/2012/02/portrait-update.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. Just an update of a self portrait I started last year. My wife said I looked like a serial killer. A really friendly serial killer. I like your style so much and specifically the eyes. They look so glassy and slippery. Cool! February 22, 2012 at 12:42 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Thursday, March 22, 2012. I didn't have much time this week for the Caricaturama Showdown on FB, but the subject was Bjork, so I had to try something. I tried to break her down to simple lines using PS, which suit her sharp features. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://lukewatsons.blogspot.com/2012/01/fox-hunt-step-by-step.html
Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Fox Hunt: step by step. Here's a step by step guide of how I put together my Fox hunt illustration. All up it took about 15 hours, done on Photoshop. Okay, so here is the final artwork. Step 1: Here I've laid out my idea using some rough reference photos to get an idea of scale etc, the initial idea is a bit different than the final artwork, but a little way in I realised that the fox wasn't working. Step 7: I managed to come up with a new idea to pop in the foreground (two dogs...
