Tales from my experiences in the Peace Corps stationed in Jamaica. The main story starts July 1st 2008. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. So I know it has been a long time since I have posted here, but there have been some things happening that I think I want to share. Best banana I have ever had! Go on) they giggled and stopped trying to get too many extras. The adults were just as bad. I guess they were good cupcakes! For a such a destitute place my village is, I think with these events, a little civic pri...

An American Werewolf in Jamaica: September 2008

http://ciarnow.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

An American Werewolf in Jamaica. A blog from a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jamaica. A few words of caution; lies may be used to tell the truth, bad jokes, crummy pictures and a few moments of genius can be expected, even if they aren't from me. Friday, September 19, 2008. Okay time for some randomness. Mosquitoes suck my nose; figuratively for sure and if I'd let them literally too. Never work 25 yards from a KFC. The smell makes you hungry and sick at the same time. An American Werewolf in Jamaica. A blog from a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jamaica. A few words of caution; lies may be used to tell the truth, bad jokes, crummy pictures and a few moments of genius can be expected, even if they aren't from me. Friday, October 24, 2008. I've never been a huge picture taker, I'd go on tangents. Capture with my camera. This odd realization only came upon me here in Jamaica, at a greenhouse when I noticed butterflies in a way I'd never seen them before. Were swirling around li...

2010 Xmas From Jamaica | Jamaica Me Better

https://joshnjesse.wordpress.com/2010/12/28/2010-xmas-from-jamaica

124; Comments RSS. 2010 Xmas From Jamaica. Posted on December 28, 2010. Well, I’m not in Jamaica, but that doesn’t mean it’s not always in the corner of my eye. Just came across an AMAZING Dancehall Christmas Mix. That I had to post up here. If you want to avoid the possibly NSFW cover art, just click on ‘download’ below). It’s crude and loud and NOT safe for children (or work), but… it’s REALLY a great mix. Lots of new music with Christmas stuff. Reggae Gold MMX, pt. 1. Reggae Gold MMX, pt. 2. The views...

The progression of skills. I'll edit this later, but something just happened to make me think of this topic. A year in I could catch them with likkle. Effort, but even after a few stomps or whaps. Cockroaches back home don't stand a chance!

Grace's Travel Blog: Hitting My Stride

http://iboughtapairofbirkenstocks.blogspot.com/2008/12/hitting-my-stride.html

Wednesday, December 3, 2008. My Peace Corps Family. This Thanksgiving was one of the best in my life. Not only did I have so much to be grateful for (the love of my family and friends, my health, a life full of vitality and an opportunity to serve others to name just a FEW), but I got to spend the day in Negril with my fellow Peace Corps Volunteers! I'm thankful to have a family like this on a day I thought I would be completely homesick," one volunteer said. I'm thankful I didn't get woken up by a!

Grace's Travel Blog: A picture show!

http://iboughtapairofbirkenstocks.blogspot.com/2008/11/picture-show.html

Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Finally I found some pictures of St. Elizabeth, and more specifically Santa Cruz. Found these on Google Earth. The video is mine though and I recorded it last week. This is the view from The top of the Don Figuero mountains looking down on Santa Cruz. This is Santa Cruz Main Street, where all the excitement is. You have me picking myself up off the floor from laughing at your rendition of "a day in your life". TOO FUNNY! While doing great work. November 28, 2008 at 10:57 AM.

Jason in Java

Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Story: Letters, Lessons and Love. 11 months in Indonesia. It is about how my story was woven into the Indonesian story. How Indonesians became apart of my story. It was woven so intricately that my story is insistent that they are apart of it. In fact, my story can never be thought apart from their story. The stories tangled and now they will seemingly part, but that is just an illusion. This community also has many fruits that have yet to be revealed—that are still hidden. The Ch...
