The Care and Feeding of Nerds: June 2010
http://nerdcare.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
The Care and Feeding of Nerds. Nerds are about the most predictable creatures on the planet because we are, above all, creatures of habit. We don't like change (unless it's the new XBOX, or a faster processor) and we don't like risk (eBay makes me nervous). We just want our toys, three square meals a day, and to be taken out for a walk once a week. Sunday, June 27, 2010. Was definitely the better of the two for me; the acting was much better, which is really saying something for an 80's sci-fi flick....

Gordon's Garbage: Network and system goals and objectives
http://gordonsgarbage.blogspot.com/2015/07/network-and-system-goals-and-objectives.html
Thursday, July 2, 2015. Network and system goals and objectives. This post will mainly be an outline for the various features and capabilities I want my system to have by the time I'm through with the project. It will serve as a framework to guide the remainder of my efforts on this front. These are the things I need to get set up on the server. Install Edimax AC1200 USB wifi adapter. Ensure that upon reboot, that I can ssh back into the system to log back in. For the time being, I'm going to forgo this.

Gordon's Garbage: September 2008

Sunday, September 21, 2008. A tribute to American Heroes. From whence does today's subject come? For more videos, look on Youtube. As I watch/listen and laugh, I am reminded of the kafafle a few months ago about Kirby Heyborne. Of The Singles Ward. And The Best Two Years. Moon Griffon is one of the daytime talk show hosts on the local Fox radio station, but he is purely Louisianan in voice, style, and broadcast area. Now I really can't stand Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, but I don't mind Moon so much, and his accent is just fun to listen to. However, this particular day he started talking about a study.

Gordon's Garbage: Turning a budget Costco branded R4500 router into a screaming WNDR4500 running dd-wrt
http://gordonsgarbage.blogspot.com/2015/07/budget-costco-branded-r4500-router-to.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Turning a budget Costco branded R4500 router into a screaming WNDR4500 running dd-wrt. Pictured above is the venerable R4500 wireless N router from Netgear. This piece of hardware has a lot good things going for it, most of which I don't understand so I won't elaborate. What I do know is that it's a dual band wireless N router with a pretty power processor. The best part about it, though, and the reason I purchased it (refurbished from Newegg. Setting up the network. To put my mo...
