I often see that simple question in forums and some people get confused over it, so I'll try to shed some light about it. BIDS stands for (Business intelligence development studio) it's a small subset of Microsoft's Visual Studio product, using the visual studio 2005,2008, or 2010 shell based on your SQL server installation version. In SSRS, if you want to be fancy and display the USER NAME in the header or footer of your reports, like what I do. SSRS uses Domain UserName format. So someone this morning was asking in the forums about how to strip the domain out. So I provided two solutions. Welcome " and MID(User! UserID," ") 1, Len(User! Welcome " and =right(User! Msg 8501, Level 16, State 3, Line 3. MSDTC on server 'ODCLG29' is unavailable. That means the "Distributed Transaction Coordinator" service is not running. Ways to get to it. Type "services.msc" in the run or search command. Or go to Control Panel - administrative tools - - Services. You may further read about it here.
