Road to adopt: June 2010
http://roadtoadopt.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
A long road less travelled. But one that is worth the wait. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise to me that my FSH level is at 13.6. I probably should be thankful that it isn't higher. We don't know what this will mean for the future. I have to say that right now I am leaning towards trying donor eggs. Why bother to use my own eggs, if the result is most likely to be negative? But you won't believe what kind of comments people here make all the time: "Is this your child? Or the...

Road to adopt: October 2010

A long road less travelled. But one that is worth the wait. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Of the 6 eggs we got, two weren't mature. One didn't fertilize. So, it looks like we might be able to transfer three on Tuesday. Hold your fingers crossed that they grow and stick this time. Saturday, October 30, 2010. Strong and sticky embryos needed. Today at the retrieval we got six little eggs. Let's hope the ICSI will do the trick and let them grow into six strong and sticky embryos. The doctor was at a conference,...

Parenting after infertility: the blog formerly known as The I Word. Archive for February, 2015. February 3, 2015. The kids have been out of their minds with excitement to be back “in our regular house,” as Oz put it. Illyria grabbed the butterfly wings she wears and hugged them and kissed them saying “I missed you soooo much! 8221; Our indoor herb garden is out of control and the guinea pigs are still alive and kicking. It’s really hard to leave all that behind. Creme de la Creme 2014. Big p and me.

Parenting after infertility: the blog formerly known as The I Word. Archive for April, 2015. April 16, 2015. I just have to highlight this comment from Angela on my previous post:. This is exactly right. I told myself all kinds of things to push through to the defense, some of them lies. But I got to that milestone. Now I just have to finish this LAST LITTLE BIT and I’m home free. I think I need to just celebrate finishing and not dwell so much on what I perceive as my failures. April 15, 2015. I’d...

Parenting after infertility: the blog formerly known as The I Word. Archive for March, 2015. It’s my party. March 12, 2015. At this point in my life I kind of like getting older. I don’t love the web of wrinkles spreading across the backs of my hands, but I have no problem admitting my age or owning it. It feels like an accomplishment. Sir Terry Pratchett died today, so that clinches it – I’m gifting myself the Tiffany trilogy on my Kindle. RIP Sir Terry. Posted in waily waily. March 5, 2015. Big p and me.

It feels so incredibly good to be done and I am so glad I never ever have to do that again. It was nerve-wracking, but my committee were very kind, asked hard questions but were generous with accepting my answers. I have to admit I cried a little bit later in the afternoon when it all hit me… nine years. I am just so glad I never, ever have to do that again.

Road to adopt: September 2009
http://roadtoadopt.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
A long road less travelled. But one that is worth the wait. Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Visit to the school for the blind. I am sorry I am so bad with updating. My days are just running by me. Between working, taking care of Lilli, and the household there doesn't seem to be a lot of time left. But I also didn't have to say anything interesting. They gave us a little tour through the school and seeing those children made me realize all over again how blessed we are to have such a healthy little girl.
