Measly Meanderings: December 2008
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Monday, December 15, 2008. Causes of City Conventions. As the republic emerges from another Ayala rally last Friday, a few questions have been tossed around the blogosphere and the atmosphere on the nature of Philippine rallies. As a disclaimer, I have not (yet) been an active participant of a rally; the closest was this Ayala rally earlier this year when I was lounging around the area and I thought I saw a bomb (see lower part of the post). This questions...

Measly Meanderings: Traffic Thoughtfulness
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2010/02/traffic-thoughtfulness.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Monday, February 15, 2010. Of course, I had to pay for the gas, but that was the only charge! This was without prodding or the usual calling card talk! I'd like to add a little positivity this time, especially for the MMDA Enforcers who have been maligned too many times. At least this shows that surely, these examples are the norm and not the exceptions. Booked and posted by number cruncher. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ang Tambayan ni Paeng.

Measly Meanderings: December 2009

Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Monday, December 07, 2009. In addition to defending his mother's actions. He also wants to flaunt his analysis:. Mikey said the criticisms that came Ms Arroyo’s way after declaring martial law in Maguindanao were typical of her opponents’ obsession to dwell on the negative aspect of every issue facing the administration. Why did they not present it as 20 percent of the Filipinos are still willing to vote for the administration-backed candidate? San Juan Go...

Measly Meanderings: June 2009
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Thursday, June 04, 2009. With all the talk of the failure of our representatives to represent us in the recently-held Conass vote, why does there seem to be a wide disconnect between what the survey says (disapproving Charter Change, promoting Reproductive Health, etc.) and what our representatives do (shove Con-ass down our throats)? On the local level, do we actually know what our congressmen are doing in Congress? This is where around three months of my...

Measly Meanderings: Manny Musing
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2009/05/manny-musing.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Saturday, May 02, 2009. Not that I don't believe in Manny Pacquiao's talents, but the whole dance gets tiring after a while. Manny fights, he wins, the congressmen get to watch him in Vegas. We cheer for Manny, we boo the congressmen, the congressmen don't care, then we go back to our lives. I'm just going to wait for the online feeds which will show the round by round account; the feeds come in hours before the first round would be televised.

Measly Meanderings: Liberal Line Limit
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2009/11/liberal-line-limit.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Tuesday, November 24, 2009. The Liberal Party of Noynoy Aquino put itself into a corner when they took in Ralph Recto (for Vilma Santos probably), with the ensuing backlash from Serge Osmena. Before this, Cesar Montano was fielded as Bohol's gubernatorial candidate. Now, Richard Gomez has been fielded and Noynoy is talking to Chiz Escudero to become his campaign manager. I still want to believe. I still want to hope. Is our hope misplaced? A Day in the Lif...

Measly Meanderings: Disheartening Declaration
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2009/04/disheartening-declaration.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Thursday, April 23, 2009. It's terribly disheartening to see that. Who isn't exactly a powerless participant in this republic, is also losing hope in this republic of bananas. If he feels helpless about the whole seemingly endless downward spiral from his relatively advantageous perspective, what more the less vocal and less influential middle class, and especially the great mass of Filipinos? Booked and posted by number cruncher. Time to pack up and leave.

http://tihort.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Sunday, May 18, 2008. While reading about the quirks and quandary that besets our society, I try to latch on some public figures that feed my idealist tendencies. Unfortunately, these figures eventually succumb to the dark side. Or how about our local Dirty Harry who launched a shame campaign against drug dealers and was the darling of the Yellow Queen, but clung on to the Action Hero and did his bidding even when it was against public trust? It’s cr...

Measly Meanderings: August 2008
http://tihort.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Minor musings on multiple miscellaneous matters. Wednesday, August 27, 2008. From Flood to Flight. We were driving on the way home after a few hours of rainfall flooded the streets of the metro once again. Fortunately, we weren't hit by the floods. Unfortunately, since most of the metro is interconnected, a flood in Buendia can trigger a gridlock in EDSA-Roxas. During the rains, more vehicles are slowed down by floods, therefore, vehicles available for rides arrive later and less frequently. Since the tr...
