So… About Those Jaw Exercises… | BraceForIt

April 10, 2014. So… About Those Jaw Exercises…. Remember when I admitted that my surgeon’s millimetre expectations were causing me a certain level of anxiety? Apparently…that was justified! Fast forward again to my appointment. My surgeon approaches with his trusty ruler and WHAT? I was only measuring 20 mm! I was about to walk out with my head hung in shame when I said, ‘Look, please hand me those tongue depressors! I’ll prove it! 8217; I piled them up, shoved them in my mouth and BOOM! Oh but wait....

April 10, 2014. Day 30 – Before and After (Exciting Changes! FINALLY, I have a few minutes to breathe, rest, and check in with everyone! I’m officially back to myself from a work perspective…so in classic style, it has taken over my life! I’ve spent the remainder of each day resting up from pure mental exhaustion (and a little joint pain from my jaw stretching exercises). It’s hard to believe it’s been an entire month since surgery. Time is FLYING! I Didn’t Disappear – I Swear! Day 31 – I Can Chew! I can...

Day 37 – I LOVE MY FACE!! | BraceForIt
https://braceforit.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/day-37-i-love-my-face
April 10, 2014. Day 37 – I LOVE MY FACE! So much so, that I treated my new face to a new ‘do’ 🙂. I’m amazed at how much change has occurred in the last week from minor loses in swelling! My chin is evening out, my cheek bones are becoming more pronounced and I can’t help but stare all the time when I catch myself with my lips shut. It’s still such a foreign concept for me but one that I am incredibly delighted in. So… About Those Jaw Exercises…. Day 42 – Slow and Steady →. April 13, 2014 at 4:53 am.

February 26, 2014. Nine hours to go! Made it through a full day of back and forth ortho/dental appointments and the final hours at work! Enjoyed a massive and delicious beef burger and home cut fries with the fam for my ‘last chewable meal’. Hoping to get in a few decent hours of sleep if I can get my mind to rest. Here goes! Ready to jump in with both feet and get this over with! I’m ready for Kim 2.0 😉. February 25, 2014. One More Day – Is This Really Happening? Keep me posted 🙂. February 23, 2014.

April 10, 2014. Day 42 – Slow and Steady. Changes have started to slow down quite a bit now. I understand why many bloggers start to ‘drift’ or disappear around this point. BUT, since my orthodontist says that what you see at month one, versus, month two, three and four are often quite different….I’ll stick around 😉. I also need to work on how I open my mouth. My bottom jaw seems to have a tendency of opening slightly off centred. One day at a time! April 10, 2014. Day 37 – I LOVE MY FACE! Prior to surg...

March 24, 2014. Day 25 – I LOVE Progress! Happy Monday, everyone! It’s another lovely, sunny but FREEZING COLD day as we await March to go out like a Lion with a massive Blizzard warning for Wednesday :-l You know it’s bad when I’ve already starting planning our next trip to the Med in the fall! Greatest accomplishment since my last post – I’m getting CHEEKBONES! Who knew something like that would give me so much satisfaction? One week to go and 6 more mm to go. I.CAN.DO.THIS! My right side is still more...

It is only the start… | One Bite at a Time...

Dealing with braces and jaw surgery. One Bite at a Time…. It is only the start…. January 18, 2014. Visited the ortho for a check-in on Monday. I’m stuck in the expander for another six weeks (at least) even though I’m not sure it 100% did what it was supposed to do. I definitely have a gap (that hasn’t closed much yet), but I think they were hoping for more expansion. However, my bottom teeth are definitely moving! I’m having a hard time smiling and even talking these days. My family, friends, ...Went we...

Dealing with braces and jaw surgery. One Bite at a Time…. Monthly Archives: May 2014. Another one bites the dust? One step closer to the edge? How long do they wait until they make a decision on that? For those of you that have Class III Malocclusions, did you have to have both? Was there ever a choice? Can upper only correct asymmetry? I wanted to document the swelling from this procedure and compare later to the actual surgery. I really didn’t well much with the wisdom teeth extractions…. May 28, 2014.
