The Peopletron Focus: August 2009
http://peopletron.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2009. 9 Arizona Motor Hotel. Here's a few shots of the very cool 9 Arizona Motor Hotel in Williams Arizona. Williams is known as the gateway to the Grand Canyon because of the Grand Canyon Railway that departs daily on a 65 mile journey to the natural wonder. Located on historic Route 66, this hotel has one of the more spectacular signs in the town. The view of the motor hotel (or motel) from the street. The decorative concrete wall that is so common to mid century architecture.

Sunday, August 15, 2010. Old Towne Mall- Carousel Gift Shop. This is another view of the store, located right at the cable car entrance on the north side of the mall. Here you can see the cable car in the background. You can also see the amazing carpet in the store. I like the quick transition from brick street to deep red carpet. Sunday, May 30, 2010. Old Towne Mall- Clown With Crowd. Here's a closer view of the clown. I'm not quite sure what she's doing other than looking at the balloon that just got away. It's great to see how much enjoyment kids got from the live entertainment at Old Towne. All Old Towne Posts are located here. Tags: Old Towne Mall. Category: Old Towne Mall. The Peopletron Focus: October 2008
http://peopletron.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 04, 2008. Sandy Vitale Dance Studio. Whenever I drive down Western Avenue in Gardena I see this beautiful old sign. Unfortunately, rust keeps eating away at it, and sooner rather than later it will finally succumb to the elements. So here's some pictures I took of it for posterity. From a distance, the old brick building, which still has a dance studio on the top floor. I used a drawing program to create this sign, just so I could see how it once looked. The Peopletron Focus: August 2008
http://peopletron.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 22, 2008. Inspired by the most recent post. At the really cool Ultra Swank blog, I thought I would share some pictures of the Queen's Motel in Victorville. California. Like most of my roadside signage pictures, this was taken from the passenger seat of our car while on a road trip. The elegance in the simplicity of the sign is what gives it such an appeal. too bad these are becoming so scarce. Further back, we can see the old motel the sign advertises. Saturday, August 02, 2008. Farewell T...

The Peopletron Focus: September 2010
http://peopletron.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 11, 2010. A view of the corner of the building. It must have been quite an undertaking to paint all of the logs on the side of the building. Although they aren't real, it does give a nice country look to the building located in the middle of Southern California. The rest of the building. There's not much parking in their lot, and it gets really tight with today's larger cars. I would recommend parking on the street or in their satellite lot across the street. The Peopletron Focus: Knott's Berry Farm- Before and After Part 4
http://peopletron.blogspot.com/2011/01/knotts-berry-farm-before-and-after-part.html
Saturday, January 08, 2011. Knott's Berry Farm- Before and After Part 4. I thought I would post another then and now shot of Independence Hall at Knott's Berry Farm. This first shot shows the building and the long walkway leading up to the entrance. I apologize for the quality of this picture, as the prints from this set were badly damaged. I tried to make the sky more blue. The original picture had green skies. Visit the official Knott's Berry Farm website here. Tags: Knotts Berry Farm.

The Peopletron Focus: March 2009

Monday, March 02, 2009. Knott's Berry Farm- Marilyn and Cecelia. Here's a vintage photo of the Marilyn and Cecelia statues from Knott's Berry Farm. They were not at the park the last time I visited, and neither were any of the other "sit down and pose" statues that were always around the park in years past. I'm not sure when they removed them, but it's sad that another bit of the park is gone. Visit the official Knotts Berry Farm website here. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What Happened To These Kitchens?

The Island of Lost Megos: It's a Tropical Island, Get Some Damned Sun!
http://lostmego.blogspot.com/2011/04/its-tropical-island-get-some-damned-sun.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. It's a Tropical Island, Get Some Damned Sun! One of the problems I've had with the BifBangPow. Lost figures is the very light skin tone they chose to use. It seems to be a trend across the board with these ReMegos. That they are all several shades lighter than their 70s forebearers, but the BBP figures are especially light. I asked about this in our Mego Museum interview. Introducing John Locke: Tanned and Ready for Action! Was first introduced by David Lee. Is there a specific ...
