I work in a variety of mediums but mostly these days I paint. Assemblage sculpture I love, but it requires a lot of space to store the raw materials and I move around too much for it to be workable. Being an artist is central to my identity these days. My art is about self-discovery, but also about having fun. A new theme which has been emerging is the creation of order from chaos both inner and outer. I first came across the idea in an interview with Camille Paglia in Urthona Magazine.

I'm a Buddhist - what does this mean? My approach to Buddhism is based on the teachings of Sangharakshita. The founder of the Triratna Buddhist Order. Through his books and recorded lectures, and as taught to me by his senior disciples in particular Subhuti, Sona, and Nagabodhi. These are all 96Mhz mp3's of my PC playing back my compositions. The piano and cello's are passable immitations, but the violins and other instruments are poor. But you get the idea. Scores are available on request. I use Finale PrintMusic. Work for solo piano. Cello duet - first movement of planned suite or sonata. For cello and piano in something like the three movement sonata form. Electronica and Musique Concrete. Mostly created by taking a seed sound and tweaking it using Audacity.

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. DIARY 132 Cousin's Day. This time we met at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire. It's literally just up the road from the better known Chatsworth House. It's a uniquely preserved Medieval/Tudor house, complete with an intact Kitchen of the period, it was abandoned by its owners in the 18th century when they inherited Bolsover Castle, the Hall started being restored by them in the 20th century.
