http://maeghaninturkey.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. I'm pleased to inform you all that I'm home safe and sound. My friends showed up at the airport with a giant "Welcome Home Maeghan! Sign and turkeys painted on their chests. This morning I woke my brother up at 8:30 because I was bored. Not sure he appreciated that, but until I start sleeping at normal times again, he'll just have to deal. =D It's good to be home. Saturday, July 25, 2009. Monday, July 20, 2009.

Turkey or Bust: January 2009
http://maeghaninturkey.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Thursday, January 29, 2009. Day Four. The uber-expensive museum visit, a sea of greenhouses (not for cold but for hail.) , and Mattie and I swimming in the Turkish Dead Sea (not THE Dead Sea). Day Three. Mattie and the Dr. Seus tree, John and St. Nick himself, a gorgeous tiled floor, the (drowsy? Chaperone, the Brazilians (also can't leave the house without a flag or three hundred), a telephone booth, and more islands. 26th January: ...

Turkey or Bust: The Communists!
http://maeghaninturkey.blogspot.com/2009/07/communists.html
Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Thursday, July 2, 2009. I nearly fell out of a moving van today fleeing the communists! I must admit, the statement was much more epic than the explanation. Carly, Juliana, and Valeria all leave tonight/tomorrow morning. I'm "sleeping" at Carly's house and going to the airport with her. I still find myself trying to make plans involving students who've been gone for a month. I can't imagine when it's only Valerio and I. 3 days.Ju...

Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Friday, October 31, 2008. Another Bus Adventure, Three Icecream Cones, and Twelve Free Texts Later. Will I ever go a week without blogging about the busses? Wednesday was like, a Turkish Independence day or something and there were flags EVERYWHERE. Not kidding. Mattie and I decided to meet for lunch in Taksim, but traffic was ridiculous. Imagine. Let me say- nothing in life is that simple. PS I don't know what will happen to the pho...

Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Wednesday, July 15, 2009. 10 Days and Counting. So for lack of anything better to do, I'm reading the Lufthansa restrictions on carry-on luggage and I'm finding them way more entertaining than they should be. Favorites include:. Items you cannot bring in your carry-on:. Okay, can someone please tell me the difference between a fake weapon and a false weapon? No sharp items, no blunt items. doesn't that rule out, like, everything?

Turkey or Bust: April 2009
http://maeghaninturkey.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Gorkem, Cats, and a Fortune Teller. I went with my mother and host sister to a death anniversary. In Turkey they honour the death of a loved one by getting together on the anniversary of their death to pray and eat that person's favorite foods. We went to Gorkem's aunt's house. They have a cat named Kopuk (which means bubble! Gorkem does not like cats. This meant that the cat loved her. Hilarity ensued. Before...

http://maeghaninturkey.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Welcome to my web diary documenting my year living in Istanbul, Turkey. Monday, June 29, 2009. By the end of the week, all the other students will be gone. I cannot believe it. The last week has been all goodbyes. We've been shopping at the Grand Bazaar and Taksim. We took trips to Sultan Ahmet and Ortakoy (famous, touristy places). Now it's down to packing. Juliana just laughed at me. Tomorrow is more Grand Bazaar. I swear, if I get called the Spice Girls one more time. Friday, June 26, 2009. For us exc...
