Modest impressions...: 10 best of 2014
http://jayfelker.blogspot.com/2014/12/10-best-of-2014.html
For those who might be interested in family, ministerial, or theological observations from my own journey with the Lord. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. 10 best of 2014. This was the first full year I was able to choose what I wanted to read and didn't have a stack of syllabi that dictated it for me! Needless to say, I took advantage of the freedom. Here were my 10 favorite's of 2014 in no particular order;. Lion of War series. Till We have Faces. T he Hiding Place. How God became King. Tim Keller's look at ...

For those who might be interested in family, ministerial, or theological observations from my own journey with the Lord. Saturday, August 23, 2014. 8221; Rather than providing an answer, I would much prefer to answer with a question, “How much do you want to know? So here are a few observations;. As expressed earlier, I believe in the power of prayer and was indebted to those of you who prayed for our team. Our God is gracious and good and our team is so thankful for your support! I have been happily mar...

For those who might be interested in family, ministerial, or theological observations from my own journey with the Lord. Wednesday, June 26, 2013. All things to all people. The experience in Thailand reminded me once again of the sacrifices we are called to make for the gospel, that it should change every aspect of our lives. I'm grateful for the way it changed Paul's heart and asking the question where are those areas in my life that it must continue to shine it's light? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Modest impressions...: Our Story

For those who might be interested in family, ministerial, or theological observations from my own journey with the Lord. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. As he said it, I was a bit taken aback and he seemed to notice my surprise so he tried to back track his excitement. No matter the time, I couldn't let a chance like this pass me by without pressing him about his excitement. As I questioned him, his answer was simple, "I like the cross, because it's a story about me.". Here are a few examples. The night befo...
Modest impressions...: December 2013

For those who might be interested in family, ministerial, or theological observations from my own journey with the Lord. Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Reason for Sports Review. I picked up this book the other night to just get a gist for its flow and purpose and finished it the next night! Though not expressed, I would think the challenge with this approach is that so few believers see the world through a gospel lens, allowing it to show up in places we rarely would find it. That's where this book was s...

Our Adventures: Accidental Memories
http://jhudsonsmom.blogspot.com/2013/04/accidental-memories.html
Friday, April 26, 2013. So while I am not sad to leave the apartment, I do look back with fond memories of hanging Christmas lights inside the house, or letting the boys play football/baseball/soccer inside the house. We made memories and made this our home because we were together. I look forward to how God will use our next home as a place to make memories, grow together, and love on others. I love this. Very true and touching! Home is where your family is together! May 30, 2013 at 6:01 PM.

Monday, July 11, 2011. We celebrated our June baby with an outdoor turtle themed party! We had a wonderful time celebrating Athan's first birthday with all of his cousins and a few other special guests. Thank you all for helping us to celebrate baby A! The turtle theme was based around Athan's swim suit! Cousin Ally loves to help. Scarfing down the birthday cake.moments before he choked on it and spit it back out. Love that my dad would get in the pool with Athan even though he was fully dressed. Down at...

Thursday, June 2, 2011. Our kiddos are just so resilient. We worried about how they would transition to a new place, and they are just doing fabulous. Clearly, you can tell from this, they are enjoying one another and having all their toys back again (after being in storage for a month). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jay, Jen, Hudson and Baby Athan. Our Adventures: November 2011

Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Blocks of Remembrance.2011. A quick recap of a BIG year. So here they are.our blocks of 2011. 1 Our house sold. Easily. We knew it was not a great time to put a house on the market. Ours sold quickly and without much trouble. This was a huge confirmation for us that our step of faith in packing up and moving to Dallas was the right move. 3 It took 12 months, but baby A finally slept through the night. 4 The boys had a great summer in Texas. We made our move to Fort Worth at th...
Our Adventures: October 2011

Friday, October 14, 2011. Happy Birthday, Hudson! We celebrated Hudson's birthday in Fort Worth style this year with a cowboy themed party. It was fun picking out decor and, thanks to Susu, stylin' some great cowboy clothes. Unfortunately though, for the second year in a row, Hudson was sick on his birthday. We couldn't have friends over, but family did brave the stomach bug and come on anyway (maybe not a good decision as they ALL caught it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jay, Jen, Hudson and Baby Athan.

Thursday, April 21, 2011. Double digits are here, and, oh boy! We've had some changes this month. Athan's on the move! His fine motor coordination is increasing, too. That has made meal time more enjoyable for everyone. He can pick up food from his high chair and feed himself. I love the finger food stage! It took some time, but he has also starting drinking from a cup. For the longest time he seriously only thought it was for banging on the highchair! He also loves to tell people all about Athan's accom...

Saturday, May 21, 2011. All We've Ever Known. In the moving truck. When Jay and I married in 2003, our plan was to live in Stillwater. Just long enough for Jay to finish his last year of school. 10 months really was all. Countryside. We can't say enough how grateful we are to our Father in Heaven for the privilege. Of serving this body of believers through discipling. Our family. We've lived in a dumpy townhouse as newlyweds, a much better duplex when we got a little more, and then we bought our own ...

For those who might be interested in family, ministerial, or theological observations from my own journey with the Lord. Thursday, October 13, 2016. I have often wondered what God would have wanted His followers to do who lived in other parts of Israel at that time? The reality is that some of the faithful left, perhaps the majority, but others chose to stay. Why? Why in the face of persecution and an increasingly pagan society would they have stayed? Tuesday, May 17, 2016. More than just a season. Needl...
