Is known as "The poor man's Galapagos" because it has a lot of the wildlife that can be found in the Galapagos, but is a lot less expensive to visit. We caught a small boat in the coastal. Monday, March 17, 2008. We hit the road headed towards our friendly neighbors to the north. Picked up Brett at PDX and spent an evening catching up with old friend Beth in Portland. Driving through Washington, we stopped in Bellingham to taste the local brew and met up with some friends of friends who patrol at the nearby Mt. Baker. After a smooth border crossing, we found ourselves in the lovely British Columbia, eh. Spent our first day on Blackcomb Mtn, where another storm blew in 10 cm of fresh, eh!
