Ellie Langley - PAPER. TEARFOLD.RIP.CREASE.CUT. Tuesday, 1 March 2011. A tree is a perennial woody plant. BUT today it is a perennial PAPER plant! The first thing I tried is just a simple 'cartoon' style tree, which is a very straight forward way. I believe this is how I used to draw trees when I was younger! Ellie Langley - PAPER. TEARFOLD.RIP.CREASE.CUT. Sunday, 6 March 2011. While looking at some of my fellow student's blogs, I came across an artist that a few people have used for inspiration. Su does these amazing paper sculptures, using old books at her base. They caught my eye mainly because of the trees of course. but I just love this style. I absolutely LOVE these! Thursday, 5 May 2011. After doing the primary drawings of my characters I edited each set movement where the face changes and the eyes move in different direction. I added the cut out effect to them all and put it into after effects as a jpeg sequence and made a short animation of how the face will change on each individual shot. Take a look and see what I mean. Below is the scene selection I edited in Photoshop there is only 12 shots. In my animation some will be repeated and moved around.

Monday, 14 March 2011. This is the original photo. Levels changed to make it brighter. Curves changed to make it brighter again in different areas. This one was just a bit of experiment to see what different colours would look like. I prefer the red and blue, still in keeping with the british colour theme. This is the final image i will use for my poster i still feel like its missing something though so i found the Design Museum logo on google. In the words of Alan. F* KKKKKK! The letters don't stand up ...

I prepared the paper just as I prepared the paper for the sculpture I made in task one, except I was going to be drawing on the design freehand, so I could stick the brown paper on first. Dont worry, i used a spray booth, not the mac lab desk :P. Neatening up the edges. I then drew on some birthday related illustrations to cut out of the numbers. Cutting the shapes out. Is made from paper. Sunday, 27 February 2011. In the second paper workshop we used slightly bigger sized pieces of paper, half of an a2 sheet I believe. We cut a2 sheets into two, vertically, so that we had two long and thin pieces of paper to work with; we then proceeded to draw a 1cm border around the long pieces of paper we had. David Carson is an American Graphic designer and typographer, who rose to fame in the 1990s as a result of his innovative work in magazine design and so-called 'grunge typography'. He was the art director for the magazine 'Ray Gun', an alternative-rock magazine based in California. The magazine was well known for its cutting edge and daring typographic design. Jun/july 1997 - blur. I really like the way the typography is so free and all over the place :).
