Just another WordPress.com site. And also thought not in this exhibition, judy natal. So approaching the first point I didn’t know too much structurally about domes so I needed to figure out the practical reasons for dome usage. Is it even plausible or practical that domes would be used? I researched both monolithic (Greek for one stone , meaning the dome is all one piece where as the geodesic dome is many) and geodesic structures. They can be constructed with relatively cheap materials. While these addr...

Just another WordPress.com site. Issues with the article. The last point I want to bring up I’m on the undecided about. The author claims that the literary utopia is sort of the superior form of utopia because of it’s longevity, that while we remember big brother of Orwell’s 1984 we have long forgotten Ebenezer Howard’s Garden City,. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Broadacre City. And Le Corbusier’s Radiant City. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Next post →.

Utopia | Utopia, Dystopia, Ecotopia
https://rcongreve.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/utopia
Utopia, Dystopia, Ecotopia. While reading the chapter, on though kept coming back to me, the idea of what a utopian society would really be like incredibly interesting. If the goal is to take away the problems and suffering, what are you left with? A functioning society, yes possibly, but what does that society function towards. With no disease, risk, social issues, political problems, war, famine, global warming, I could go on, but what is society working at? But then, how would we know were happy?
Utopia: Book 2 | Utopia, Dystopia, Ecotopia
https://rcongreve.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/utopia-book-2
Utopia, Dystopia, Ecotopia. Utopia is a book that needs to be read in context, of both the time it was written and the book as a whole. So having only read “Book 2”, my view is skewed in terms of what More wanted the reader to get out of Utopia. That means I can really only think about the world presented in terms of would that be a functioning society. One thought on “ Utopia: Book 2. September 19, 2011 at 9:33 pm. The article was somewhat getting to the point that utopias are created during dystopias, or rather when times are bad, the work created will generally be more escapist and meant to give you a break from the current and dream of something else. Utopia, Dystopia, Ecotopia. The society that ends up being created in work like. In many ways functions the same as that in More’s book. While there are many overlapping concepts in design of the works, there are a few specific that I think are really key. Sustainability ends up being a very large key to the success. If you have sustainable food and water sources, surviving becomes a whole lot easier. Probably the biggest problem I had with. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

THE ARDENT TRAVELERS - What I Believe
My Love Affair With The World. I love visiting new places, meeting new people. The world is vast and should be explored. Our journey will make us mature and appreciate life more. Travel has a way of stretching the mind. The stretch comes not from travel immediate rewards, the inevitable myriad new sights, smells and sounds, but with experiencing firsthand how others do differently what we believed to be the right and only way. It makes us more tolerate and less snobbish. It reads "Change Ahead".
