The Carmichael Workshop: Make a Groovy Rotating Sticker Display!
http://www.thecarmichaelworkshop.com/2015/06/make-groovy-rotating-sticker-display.html
Saturday, June 20, 2015. Make a Groovy Rotating Sticker Display! My woodworker sticker collection has been growing like a weed, so I made a Rotating Sticker Display for them using a disco mirror ball motor. Watch my video to see how groovy it is! This is a pretty simple project. I cut four panels from 1/4" plywood that are about 5.75"x36". I used the lightest plywood I could find. I rounded over the sharp corners using a washer to draw the curve. I mounted this 1-RPM Disco Mirror Ball Motor. Polly Wants ...

The Carmichael Workshop: October 2014
http://www.thecarmichaelworkshop.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. I decided to make an indie horror flick this year for my Halloween woodworking project. This tested both my acting and chainsaw skills. I carved a pumpkin out of a white oak log using my Poulan chainsaw. Watch my scary movie below to see how it turns out! This wooden pumpkin was a great introduction to chainsaw carving because it uses only basic cuts that can be done using a standard chainsaw. I sanded it with a random orbit sander and added the lines with a grinder. You may hav...

Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Make a Rad 2x4 Skateboard! I made a Skateboard out of a standard 8-foot 2x4 for the Gwinnett Woodworkers Association 2x4 contest. Even the wheels are made from the 2x4! Watch my video to see how I did it! The 2x4 Contest Rules stated that we were allowed to use only an 8-foot 2x4 and fasteners. I ended up using most of the 2x4, two 1/2" bolts 8" long, four washers, and two nylon lock nuts. Download my Skateboard Template. Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Electric Guitar Follow Up.

The Carmichael Workshop: Make a Space-Saving TV Console Stand!
http://www.thecarmichaelworkshop.com/2015/07/make-space-saving-tv-console-stand.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Make a Space-Saving TV Console Stand! One of the greatest benefits of being a woodworker is the ability to create custom-size furniture to fit your needs. My friend needed a compact TV Console to fit in a small space in his condo, so watch my video to see how this custom project turned out. Taking into account the thickness of the 3/4" lumber. This entire project was built using three 8-foot 1"x12" boards and one 2'x4' piece of Luan plywood from the home center. This will allow for...

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Make a Wooden Crown from a Log. I've had a few small cedar logs in the shop for a couple of years, but could not decide what to do with them. When Dominic Bender announced his Challenge Tree. Event, I took this opportunity to transform a cedar log into a Wooden Crown! Check out my video of this project. Freshly cut cedar makes the shop smell great! This was a really fun project to make and I loved being creative with adding the diamonds and finial. Please comment and let me k...

Monday, January 26, 2015. Fraternity Paddle Wall Decoration. I was recently commissioned by a viewer to make a Fraternity Paddle that would be decorated and given to a new pledge. With hazing a thing of the past, fraternity paddles have become more of a Greek tradition to welcome new members. Check out this video of me making the paddle. I cut the basic shape of the paddle from a piece of 1"x12" pine. My scrollsaw uses pin blades, so I drilled 1/4" starter holes in all of the waste areas. This Laptop Sta...

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Splitters and Insert Plates for My Old Craftsman Table Saw. I received several comments and questions about the splitters and zero-clearance insert plate that I installed on my old Craftsman table saw a couple of months ago. Watch this video to see an overview of the installation of these, as well as my thoughts after using them for a while. For sending me their MJ SteelPro Splitter. Kit to try out.
