Wrandom Writings: Presentation Outline
http://jillschmutz.blogspot.com/2013/12/presentation-outline.html
Tuesday, December 3, 2013. I went for a very basic outline and posting for my slides, but I have lots of information covered in my notes. I hope this works! I'm not sure what happened to my brain. I have had this presentation done for a few days, but forgot entirely that we needed to post to our blogs about it until I logged onto canvas today. Stories in the past and present. What does this have to do with science? Reciprocal affects on each other. Effects of Science Fiction films on interest is science.

Wrandom Writings: Final Presentation Finally
http://jillschmutz.blogspot.com/2013/12/final-presentation-finally.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. Stories in the past and present. Stories were once used to teach specific lessons, explain the unexplainable, and to frighten others (mostly children) into behaving. Now stories are used much more to entertain and engage the mind, in business interactions, as well as to stir up our memories and bring people together. What does this have to do with science? Reciprocal affects on each other. Effects of Science Fiction films on interest in science. NOTES: Not only has biology impa...

Sunday, November 3, 2013. My Story is Better Than Yours. November 4, 2013 at 7:41 PM. November 4, 2013 at 10:45 PM. Jillian- you are right, i said the opposite- I think memoirs can be truthful to the author- however, I can see both sides. I dont think truth is always necessarily objective, how can it be? If so, kudos on finding this little gem :) - if not, honest mistake! November 5, 2013 at 12:30 AM. Yes, it is by our prof. Jeffreys! And I wish I could take credit for it but he suggested a certain searc...

Wrandom Writings: April 2010
http://jillschmutz.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 2, 2010. Because we had a day off of school today for "4th Quarter Break", a few of my friends asked me to go rock climbing with them. Kendall Wilkey, Taylor Anderson, and Dylan Cafferty took me for my first time to go rock climbing! We started out small with just a 30 footer and then they convinced me to do a harder one that was at least 40 feet tall! It was a fantastic adventure that lasted all afternoon! But it was so much fun! I truly had a blast! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, September 29, 2013. Alluding to the Brain. Or are they writers at heart and just do so when they find a topic to write about (their mental illness)? It is something that I wondered while reading this article ( Anderson, and Larsen). Anderson, Anders Johan W., and Inger Beate Larsen. "Hell on earth: Textual reflections on the experience of mental illness." Journal of Mental Health. 21.2 (2012): 174-181. Web. 29 Sep. 2013. Sunday, September 22, 2013. Dreams Don't Come True? Wrandom Writings: People Made of Ink
http://jillschmutz.blogspot.com/2013/10/people-made-of-ink.html
Sunday, October 20, 2013. People Made of Ink. How much money did the average human spend trying to buy the latest "Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean" package, the next book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" with notes by Harry, Ron, and Hermoine (fictional characters! Or even the latest Harry Potter games? While these movies are very obviously make believe, there are parts of the brain that overlook this simple fact to exclaim the incredibleness and possibility of these movies. I will be the first t...

Tuesday, July 20, 2010. One Job's Beginning (and End) Part II. Ryan watched Emily walk down the street away from them and nudged Josh, “Isn’t that the twin? What’s her name? 8220;What do you see, Ryan? 8221; Josh asked. 8220;Um…I think it’s the back of Emma’s head…She’s talking to someone in the room.”. 8220;How did we miss someone going in? 8221; Josh asked, obviously confused. 8220;I’m not sure. Maybe we both happened to be….” He let the sentence fade off. 8220;She’s standing up! 8221; Ryan exclaimed e...

Wrandom Writings: Reading Responses
http://jillschmutz.blogspot.com/2013/10/reading-responses.html
Sunday, October 13, 2013. 8220;Writers are often lonely obsessives, especially the literary ones. It’s nice to be told what we write is of social value."-Louise Erdrich (Belluck A1). Story is the counterforce to social disorder, the tendency of things to fall apart" (Gottschall 1634-1635). I like these two quotes a lot mainly because they discuss the importance of story in society. I just thought I would share them because I enjoyed them so much. My two emphasis areas are biology and English. I think the...
