Jack Bradbury Autobiography Excerpts
http://www.jbrad.org/autobiog.html
Excerpts from Jack Bradbury's Autobiography. Including his start at Disney's, animation work at Warner's and other studios,. And many, many years of drawing comic books. This excerpt starts about a year after Jack graduated from high school. He had just returned home to Seattle, from a job thinning apples in Chelan, Washington.]. Before going to eastern Washington, I had looked everywhere for work and had begun to feel pretty hopeless, where else could I look? Ben Sharpsteen, a director from the Disney s...
Jack Bradbury - Biographical Sketch
http://www.jbrad.org/Biographical.html
Jack Bradbury working as an animator. At the Disney Studio (c. 1940). And then made it to animator ( Ferdinand the Bull. Many years later (1989) Jim Davis sent Jack an album of many of Jack's stories that he had clipped and saved. Jim's letter included the following:. We worked for low pay. Even so, we all did pretty well and there were a lot worse jobs.". For more detail, and to get some of the story in his own words (from the horse's mouth, as it were), here are some extracts from Jack's autobiography.

Sunday, July 15, 2012. Number 1192: A Kubert critter: Sergeant Gorilla. I don't need to introduce Joe Kubert to anyone who has read comics at any time in the past seven decades. But I might need to introduce to new readers of Pappy's. 8220;You Can't Pin A Medal On A Gorilla! From Star Spangled War Stories. Star Spangled War Stories. Pappy's Golden Age Comics Blogzine: February 2015
https://pappysgoldenage.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 27, 2015. Number 1702: “Fish nibbling at my flesh.”. 8220;The Thing From the Sea” looks a lot like an EC story of the same era. But it is from Avon Comics’ Eerie. 2 (1951). The plot of a dead person coming back to wreak revenge on his murderer is a cliché, but the art treatment here is first class. Wallace Wood’s distinctive style distinguishes this story, beginning with the striking inside front cover, deftly illustrated on coquille board. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

The Comic Art of Jack Bradbury. Featuring over 1700 pages of his comic book. Work from the 1940's and early 1950's. And others, covering a huge menagerie of 'funny animal' characters.
