I challenged myself by using Caucasian hands for reference. initially i was very frustrated with finding the right pigments and tones but I'm happy with the final product. I am slightly worried that the hands look like they should be holding something. do you think i should add anything and if so, what? Monday, February 23, 2009.

Been working on this for a while and i'm not sure what to do with the background. i think i want to color the background really vibrantly, but i don't know what i should do that with. paint seems too messy and it would be difficult to shade the roses. i need suggestions. I want it to have the feel of a tattoo or an idle. hopefully that is enough of a connection to my concentration. Monday, February 4, 2008.

This year was tough and i really struggled to stay focused on creating pieces for my portfolio. However, when i did focus i was proud of the speed in which i could paint. Created for AP Art Studio: 2007-08 and now continuing through 09. Monday, December 3, 2007. Amazed that i made the due date. I got a lot of reactions from people. Many said i should put a background in, and many said i should leave it white. After contemplating it for a while, i decided the white forced you to focus on the the detail of each baby and notice the subtle, unintentional differences between each one. I think this turned out to be the true purpose of the piece. III Just another still life?

A couple of these need touch-ups before they are complete. i did the majority of the work in Colorado at the Marie Walsh summer program. it was amazing and made me a better artist/person.
