My preconceived notion was that because we knew how to ski downhill, we would be able to quickly learn cross-country skiing. While this was true, it was not as easy as I expected. My wife and I had only tried the skis out for a short time on a flat baseball field in the park and our daughters had tried the skating style of cross-country skiing, but not the traditional Nordic style.
