Quietly, about 4-5 feet away was a large bird that at first appeared to be a buzzard. One paw-step closer and it was a large raptor. Fearless of me and Papa. The next morning we were awoken by the screaming-pinging back and forth of the raptor, talking back and forth to another bird of prey across the ranch property. New to my blog?

Last night Papa and I almost stepped on a baby rattler at "Rattlesnake Alley," pictured below. I'll make sure the little guy is gone. 10:20 am Swing by Soapie's and see if the eggs hatched yet. Two of them- snuggled together in opposite directions. Shhhh . . . I'd better not alarm them; also, need to trot out of here so as not to upset Soapie much. Links to this post.
