Diary of a trip to Crete in April/May/June 2010. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Initial thoughts of Athens ferry to Crete. Well it's really happening. The lights of Athens looked beautiful when we were landing last night. Transfer driver was there - name of Kostas! Didn't hear any horns sounding because of it - everyone seems to be driving fast but maybe that's my take on this 'other side of the road' type of driving. Newspaper stand on every corner near my hotel entrance to underground train (metro)....

Well - in the night there was a lot of noise which I thought was firecrackers but have found out was gunshots! Arrive in Singapore at about 9pm Sat night their time. Diary of a trip to Crete in April/May/June 2010. Friday, June 18, 2010. Well - Crete has been left behind! I spent the last day just paddling around, getting some sleep in case ferry trip didn't provide any and just making sure I had gathered everything up. Booked taxi for 6:30pm to take me to the ferry. Cost 35 euros but no stress! Plane type seats not cabins). Ferry doesn't leave until 10pm but getting here early meant I could choose a good spot to sleep! So although i felt guilty about it, I did it!

Well we arrived at Knossos - was a weird place to find the way in to but we managed after a few goes. We had an OJ straight away because we hadn't had any brekky due to leaving early. We don't think the joke really went down how we thought of it! So we were both a bit whacked in the arvo. Instead of getting back early we got back much later and then still had to do all the fiddling...
