Gardner Family: Stop the train I want to get off!
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2012/12/stop-train-i-want-to-get-off.html
Our lives and times. Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Stop the train I want to get off! It has been so long since I really posted, thought I'd better do a quick update. Perhaps over the holidays I will have time to do other things with the blog such as put photos of my kids on that are more recent than like 5 years old! Then again, I really enjoy looking at them at those ages, so maybe I'll leave them. Nice to hear from you. Do you realize how many times youve said, Im going to start next fall. One of ...

Gardner Family: I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it!
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2012/10/im-so-excited-and-i-just-cant-hide-it.html
Our lives and times. Wednesday, October 10, 2012. I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it! When I was a freshman at Ricks College many moons ago, there was a rumor going around that they were going to let the young sisters serve missions at the same time as the elders (age 19). In hindsight, I am thinking this is probably a rumor that went around among every freshman class at church schools every year. Then, life happened. As I approached my 21st birthday, I also approached my senior year at BYU....

Gardner Family: Trees
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2012/11/trees.html
Our lives and times. Sunday, November 4, 2012. I have been thinking a lot about trees. Growing up in the high desert, I really wasn't used to a lot of trees. When we moved to Louisiana, there were trees everywhere. It was beautiful. Most of them were evergreens and there wasn't much change throughout the year. Still pretty, but after awhile kind of boring. Last week hurricane Sandy brought us a lot of wind. I had a fitful night of not much sleep listening to the wind howl and worrying about my trees.

Gardner Family: Thoughts
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2013/01/thoughts.html
Our lives and times. Sunday, January 27, 2013. Last Sunday, Dee was sustained and set apart as bishop of our ward. The day after he was called (but not to be sustained for several weeks), I sat down and wrote this. I hesitated to post it, but it does describe my feelings very early on and I want to preserve that, so here it is. But, let me back up. There is some history here. Even at tithing settlement I got a little hint from the bishop that our bishopric might be changing at ward conference (which had ...

Gardner Family: Blogging for the sake of blogging
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2013/03/blogging-for-sake-of-blogging.html
Our lives and times. Sunday, March 24, 2013. Blogging for the sake of blogging. Nothing new to say, really. I just feel like I should blog so I'll write a few random thoughts. Sis had a big birthday! My mind ponders on many things but I am not really sure how to put them into words. Sometimes they sound negative and judgmental in my head so I can only imagine how they would sound coming out into print. Thus, I will keep them to myself. :). The point is that you are on the path right?

Gardner Family: Family Matters
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2012/11/family-matters.html
Our lives and times. Thursday, November 8, 2012. Short post. Just thinking tonight about how important family is to me. I talked to my sister for a few hours yesterday. It was really good. We decided that we don't talk frequently enough if we have to talk for a few hours just to catch up (and we talk very frequently on Facebook! Come to think of it, even if we spoke on the phone every week, it would probably be for a few hours, because that's just how sisters are. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Gardner Family: 15 years!
http://louisianagardners.blogspot.com/2013/01/15-years.html
Our lives and times. Thursday, January 10, 2013. Hard to believe it has really been 15 years since the day this photo was taken! This is a photo from one of the sister's conferences while I was there. I think there are a couple of notable things about this picture. First, that I am not the shortest person. Second, that I am the only one wearing a knee-length skirt. Rebellious even then, haha! Blast from the past! Cute pictures. Happy Anniversary! And yes, date nights are so important. Keep it up!
