Tales of the Nishiki: December 2012
http://talesofthenishiki.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Tales of the Nishiki. Birding, hiking and nature, with a dash of cycling, in southern Ontario. Monday, December 31, 2012. Oh Where, Oh Where Was That Black-throated Blue? With only the month of December left I was scrambling to add species to my 2012 Ontario list. Only 2 species were needed to beat last year's total of 216. The most recent tick was a male Harlequin Duck. Sitting on the water with 3 female Buffleheads. At the very tip of the spit. Unfortunately, this was not the only location used by eBird...

Rosetta McClain Gardens Raptor Watch: 02/08/15 - 09/08/15
http://raptorwatch.blogspot.com/2015_08_02_archive.html
Ron Pittaway's article on the Rosetta McClain Gardens Raptor Watch in BirdWatching magazine! Aug 8th - Really Quiet Day! Not much at all was flying today. A local Red-tailed Hawk flew west and then came back 30 minutes later and an Osprey that Lee spotted out at East Point Park managed to sneak passed me heading west but I saw him on his flight back east with a decent sized fish in his tallons. Other than that, very few song birds or butterflies around. Oh well, it happens! Aug 7th - No Raptors but.

Birding with Buckley: Texel - Lighthouse birding
http://alvanbuckley.blogspot.com/2015/08/texel-lighthouse-birding.html
Following the passage of migration in the far Northeast. Friday, 7 August 2015. Texel - Lighthouse birding. The Northwest corner of the island is a popular spot for birders to visit during the mornings because this is often the first landing point for migrating birds. I birded the area for two days where I observed many migrant pipits but not many other migrant species. European Stonechats were common in this area - but probably weren't migrants. A few Northern Wheatears were in the area:. British Columb...
