Jean Whitewoods Photo Blog. Late Autumn at Brockhill Country Park. Two days back, I took a walk to the park in the early morning sun. The grass was frosted and crisp underfoot, and there was a warming orange glow all around; a perfect morning to be out with the camera. I love the long shadows at this time of year when the sun is low in the sky. Fallen oak leaves frosted on the ground. Difficult to distinguish the land from the lake, but I liked the abstract qualities and golden colours of this image.

Jean Whitewoods Photo Blog. RNLI – Rye Harbour. A photographic trip with Kate from our local camera club yesterday found us at Rye harbour just as the lifeboat was launched. The inflatable craft was taken down a ramp to the sea on a trailer pulled by tractor. The craft from the RNLI and manned by volunteers, sped off into the distance and stopped some distance away – too far to see what they were doing. The tractor was then hosed down to wash off the corrosive sea water ready for the next call to service.

My efforts have been rewarded with photo opportunities in my backyard. The Peahens are back! These three peahens visited our lane recently and after some initial ground exploration, flew onto rooftops causing a rumpus amongst nesting herring gulls. We think they probably came from the grounds of Saltwood Castle nearby.
